The Amex has been a cauldron of noise on many occasions. Packed with fans making atmosphere in the stands on all sides of the ground.

This has been commented on by numerous impartial visitors, particularly in the early days, and can still be pretty much guaranteed when the football anything like justifies it.

They must be praying that 'Sweet Caroline' (Reading's traditional song which has lots of ties to the club) plays over the tannoy at random intervals so their fans can join in with the 'der der der'.

If it was a potentially brilliant club anthem (full of local tradition and meaning) but the full words were not yet well known, then yes, that would be an excellent idea...

Is that all you've got? Are you the bloke who doesn't even go to games?

I am well aware that the atmosphere at The Amex has been flat on many occasions but I am also aware that the football on show has often been the most atmosphere-killingly tedious it would be possible to conceive. Whole matches with hardly a shot on goal from either side while our most attacking players sit on the bench until being "unleashed" with about 20 minutes to go...

There is nothing wrong with the number of fans going to The Amex, or the quality of the support, and we remain well entitled to take the piss out of Reading.

It isn't arranged and you shouldn't ever need plugs unless you have something wrong with your ears.
