Me a true fan who would watch My Beloved Albion in whatever circumstances.

If you lot don't like it PISS OFF!
Although I am sure you will all be first in the queue for Falmer season tickets!

Can I ask if any of you lot bothered to go to Gillingham?
Probably not!

As I previously said, I will always support the Albion. Just because I don't wish to watch them week in week out at a shit stadium with no atmosphere doesn't make me any less a fan than you.

I went to many games at Gillingham, including the game against Barnet - officially the lowest "home" crowd to watch Brighton.

I know what you mean: Withdean seems particularly tin-pot, miserable and silent (and frankly, embarrassing) this season. But I'll still be renewing my season ticket for 2004/2005, because I support the Albion, and I've sat through a f*** sight worse than this and still renewed. I know that makes me ripe for exploitation and having the piss ripped out of me by all sorts of cleverer people, and I know I'm getting to really hate home games, but in the end for me it comes down to a question of personal loyalty and identity.

Doesn't mean it has to be the same for everyone else, though. It's clear that a lot of people are asking themselves this kind of question these days, and it'd be unfair and unrealistic to dismiss them all as whingers. Surely a case of each of us making our own individual choice, just as it has always been in lean times at this (and no doubt at every) club?

I repose my blind faith in Falmer, and restrict my hope to things like just avoiding too much of a soaking at Withdean...

Here we go. I'm more loyal than you because I went to Gillingham, saw us beat 5-0 by Walsall away in the LDV (Crap game by the way only about 40 of us there) etc etc. As I said in my original post good on you if you continue going to Withdean but...

All I'm saying is this. It is a poor product in poor facilites at an inflated price. Why should people spend this amount of money? Would you buy say a cinema ticket if the above applied? Of course you wouldn't!

And what is a ''true'' fan anyway? My old man went for 30 years at the Goldstone, has been about 6 times since because he hates Withdean, listens to it all on the radio now but he will undoubtably have a season ticket at Falmer. Is he not a true fan?

LIVING IN SIN
I used to feel like many of you on hear questioning people loyalty to the club if you didnt go etc, in the past 3-4 seasons ive been to most games home and away.
it maybe due to us playing bad but my heart is not in it as much as it used to be,
im not going to QPR on saturday as im decorating my flat, there is no way this time last year you would have heard me say that!
ive just purchased my new flat and have other things to spend my money and time on.
i still go to every home game but think i need to take a back seat for abit on the aways.

ive come to a time in my life when ive relized that football isnt the only important thing in life.

i know it sounds gay .sorry...

Can I ask an obvious question?

Why did you feel the need to ask whether you should renew or not here?

Surely your decision is your decision.

I wouldn't feel the need to ask everyone's opinion as to what I do with my money.

Were you just wanting to stimulate debate perhaps?

Isn't that what this board is for?

Too far from the sun
Renew it mate. In my shoes the alternative is spending saturday afternoon shopping with wife and kids. A few beers and a pub lunch, followed by 90 minutes of the Albion is still a far better prospect, even if Withdean is cold, wet and has less atmosphere than the moon. I'd far rather have 23/24 games than one week all-inclusive in the West Indies (you'd probably either get food poisoning or mugged by some huge Jamaican anyway). No contest

What a bunch of Sky watching, slipper wearing, pipe smokinn' by the fire woofters!

So you're all turning into middle aged stay at home old farts because you can't cope with a bit of mid-table mediocrity ( except at the moment we are still in a play - off position with a chance of promotion ). The seasons only half way through and there's still everything left to play for.

Yet you all sound like you've thrown in the towel and given up. Which one of the four goals against Wycombe did you consider to be a particularly poor product ?

Every team puts in a few poor performances in a season, & I didn't consider last Saturday a particularly bad one !

Bet when the sun starts to come out again around April you'll start feeling more happy about things.

Supporting the Albion (for me ) is not just a case of turning up week in week out and expecting us to win all our games.
Its about meeting up with my mates, having a drink before and after the game..........meeting new people and having a laugh.
An away game is even better................traveling up on the train with 100s of other Brighton fans....listening to and joining in the banter........In short having a fu*king good time.
For me there is no question about renewing my season ticket.

Yes Locky. I love the football, but it is primarly about meeting up with my mates and having a laugh.

DEZ. Join us in H Block next season. We always attempt to sing, and we always have a laugh.

Yes I was there and I also had 3 season tickets there,so no question of loyalty on my part, but although there wasnt many of us there and it was a journey from hell, even when we played Barnet on Bonfire night up there and got stuffed,it still had an atmosphere, and you didnt get wet through,

Ive reached the stage where I cant afford to move from where I am as the price for me and my boys is bad enough now in The Family Stand,so to move anywhere else is out of my Financial reach,
I pay my money to be entertained, and since SC went I havent been entertained, even last year when we were bottom three, the team still had a go,but since SC went we havent done anything,so there will be 3 spare seats in the Family Stand next season, and I will probably do a lot more away games as its a better atmosphere,a lot drier and good day out.

Our section enjoys every game regardless of the play on the field.

Shrek was in fine form on Saturday

if the way they play does'nt improve b4 the end of the
season i think there will be quite a few empty seats next
season and the exorburent price does'nt help either.
Just for the record i'll still renew mine and my sons but
out of eight of us originals only two of us left........
