What I found hilarious last year was the big campaign to keep the winner of the x Factor off the top of the chart by buying the 'original'.

I think there were a few red faces around when it was discovered that Simon Cowell had bought the 'rights' to the original so he was cashing in twice!!! :lolol:

But, it's a cover of the awesome miley cyrus's fantastic song 'The Climb'!!!

I thought I'd read that it was going to be "Don't Stop Believing" by Journey, even though Joe has already sung that on one of the live shows.

Think they changed their mind somewhere along the line...I wonder why that was.

Miley Cyrus?
Jesus.

I've no problem with Cowell making a mint out of it, but it's taken all the fun out of the traditional fight for Christmas number 1. What a load of cack.

Miley Cyrus is scary in so much as her existence means that Billy Ray "Achy Breaky Heart" Cyrus actually manages NOT to be the least-talented member of his own family.

Perhaps because Don't stop believing is one of the big songs in the pilot episode of Glee which airs on E4 next tuesday, and their version would pale in comparison.

Or perhaps because Cowell wanted stacy to win so has made the winners song more female friendly.

I actually quite like 'The Climb'. It's quite far from 'Hannah Montana'.

Didn't they try last year with the Jeff Buckley version of Hallelujah but it fell short at number 2.

Managed a few bars, its perfect X factor fod, lets hope the Rage gets in over it. They could release a cover version of lady in red and I would prefer it over an X factor single.

Oh and Stacy to win...
