My mate works for a consultancy in web design and he's on the interview panel, they like to throw in a curve ball question to test a sense of personality, the last one they asked at the interview was "who would win in a fight between superman and batman?"

After pondering for a minute I plumped for superman, as after all, even though batman has cool gadgets, he is not superman! Who can't be beaten, ever.

But the lad who got the job apparently pondered it for a minute and answered "well this obviously Marvel comics vs DC comics so that fight could never happen...."

Great answer.

All that proves is that he was a geek, surely?

If the aim of the interview process was to recruit a comic-book geek, then I guess it worked for them.

Well if you were a fish and you were sitting in someone's office answering questions as part of a job interview then you would be a fish out of water and f***ing dead.
The last job interview I went for was 33 years ago and the only question I was asked was, "You a grafter son" ?

Worst I've had... "What is the angle between clock hands at 10 to 2... Talk me through your thinking all the way... If you stop talking I'll assume you've stopped thinking"

120 degrees.

360 degrees on a clock face. 12 numbers. 360/12=30 (degrees). 4 numbers between 10 and 2. 4x30=120.

Unless it's a digital clock......

It WOULD be a great answer if he was right. Batman and Superman are DC comics and they have regularly teamed up and fought.. I hope you quoted something incorrectly otherwise it doesn't say much for that company...

You need to adjust for the fact that the hour hand hasn't quite reached 2, so the answer is 115 (120 minus 50/60 minutes * 60 degrees).

but it could be 245 degrees

I have heard that Apple interviews can be a bit strange, first interview is held in a group of 20-30 others with no one to one discussion, infact the whole thing is just 2 hours of chatting and talking to other candidates with a bit of interaction from the recruitment staff
