You are not missing any point it is all about opinions and I can't stand labour you can't stand conservative
That's a lame response. The bottom line is that you can't give a rational reason why you have a problem with Bragg living in a big house and being left wing. It's about as risible as "the politics of envy" that you Thatcherites like to lay at everybody else's door when they talk about the widening gap between rich and poor.

Incidentally, there are definitely Tory politicians I would consider voting for - Ken Clarke or John Bercow to name but two. So really, my stance on the Tories is nothing like yours on Labour.

Not a lame response at all it is my opinion and I can confirm was one influenced by my parents.

I don't need a rational reason I just can't stand him like you probably can't stand others and possibly me

The problem is that Beach Hut is usually right - the Labour politicians have been coming across as particularly useless on QT recently. The fact that they still can't mount a decent opposition when the economy is on the verge of returning to recession, the Tories are fighting internally (and with coalition partners) about Europe, the budget cuts aren't getting us to where the spending plan says we should be and the Lib Dems have absolutely no credibility shows what a shower of shit they are.

I quite like most of your posts to be honest, but your QT posts wind me right up! It's up to you though, but getting all bitter at Bragg just because he has a house that is bigger than yours and has the temerity to disagree with your politics is pathetic.

I couldn't agree more with you with regards to recent events and recent Labour performance as I have already pointed out. But the fact is that Beach Hut has been promoting his QT threads with a pointless pop at a Labour politician or leftie guest since the dawn of time!

Basically in my view he writes songs about hating the establishment, the wealthy and up the workers yet is happy to live in a life of luxury himself which despite the fact he has earned the money (and good on him as I advocate that) is hypocritical

You're not wrong Sten.

It's a bit like how the Conservatives failed to win the last election depsite the fact that it really was an open goal - poor prime minister, country in recession, large debt etc.

I hope that Milliband is removed before the next election and a better, stronger leader comes through because that is what our country needs. It will give the conservatives a kick up the backside and they'll stop infighting, the Lib Dems will get with the programme and we'll have better public debates on issues that REALLY affect us

But being rich doesnt mean he has become one of the establishment? If he, per se, donates 10% of his income to charity whilst soem of the establishment donate more then isnt that more of a telling sign?

With the greatest respect sir but no I cannot agree with your views.
Tories in opposition:- it's the fault of labour all this financial crisis.
Tories in government:- all these current problems are due to a global economic crisis,

To be fair thats exactly the same game labour have played. In govt all financial crisis, out of govt Tories f***ing it up. It's what politicians do.

Agreed!

Much easier to be a 'Leftie' and spout forth taking the moral high ground when you are pretty well off!

Oh come on, I bet he happily dips his snout in the corporate trough when he gets a chance and takes advantage of his situation when preaching up the workers

Pardon - that makes no sense whatsoever.

What do you mean by dipping his snout in the corporate trough? Do you mean he takes hospitatlity, freebies? or that he pays for luxury hotels rather than Bed and breakfasts?

And what situation is he taking advantage of? he's made money and he's spent some of it on a very nice house. Do you think that he undertakes the same level of tax avoidance as say Phil Collins? (just picked another 1980's singer at random)

Yes I mean freebies like hob nobbing in the corporate area at Glastonbury etc.

So he stayed in the UK, so what others didn't it is called choice

But Beachy, I have to ask you again: how is he being a hypocrite?

Well let's see shall we?

He advocates we all integrate and live in the lefty urbanised such as Barking (his home town, ever so proud of) and is very vocal about the state of affairs in that part of the world, a few times a year we see him return 'home' to the multicultural paradise for a few hours. Tell everyone how lucky they are to be there, stand together etc then fucks off to a sprawling gaff in the countryside with a 98.1% white ethnic population...

Maybe he didn't want his kids growing up in an area riddled with crime? getting mugged on the way home from school? Maybe he wanted them to experience multiculturalism from an all white school? Smacks of 'do as I say, not as I do' really.....Much like Dianne Abbott with her public condemnation of the private schooling system (then sends her kids to fee paying City of London School)

Billy Bragg is a hypocrite because he reaps the rewards of a mixed economy off the back of record sales owing to his commercialisation of socialist rhetoric and for someone who preaches a redistrubitive (aka very left wing) stance who then blatantly fails to demonstrate redistribtuion in action is a hypocrite

Google his gaff! Imagine how many comrades he could fit in it!

Small problem with that. There isn't a corporate area at Glastonbury.

OK maybe not there but where ever else - I was a miner blah blah blah, more like I am a champagne socialist so do as I write but I don't
