But what was she being asked about? Her personal expenses which she is entitled to and her children's eductation. Admiteddly, she could have answered the questions better but it seems the whole relationship between her and Neill had changed and there was no more laughing and joking as now she has a more important job. Neill could have asked the question about her children's education at any time over the last 6 years but didn't until she got a cabinet job and left the show.

"Oh be nice, its Dianne Abbott" - doesnt wash Im afraid.

Exactly,so she's treated nicely while not in the shadow cabinet but as soon as she is we take a completely different line of questioning and treat her like she is a politician; As in a public defrauding tax cheating scum? The questions she was asked in that interview have nothing, absolutely nothing to do with politics.

I've never seen this before. Makes me think Andrew Neill comes accross as a bit of a dick, questioning a few quid on taxis and putting words in Diane Abbott's mouth about West Indian mothers, at no point did she say they were the best. I really enjoyed the relationship between all 3 on this show but it just shows how someone who comes across as perfectly normal when out of the spotlight who then goes into frontline politics gets a completely different tone of questioning, with virtually all reason removed giving her no real chance to express opinion without it being twisted and turned against her, and Diane in turn having to answer every question whilst referencing Labour acheivments.

What planet are you on. He had every right to ask about her taxi bill of £190 and fair play she answered it (although you might want to double check the scanned receipts). However, she failed to address the line of question about her racist view of motherhood. Her comment was that West Indian mothers would do everything for their children. To the average person on the street, the implication is that other ethnic groups don't. On that basis, it is racist. She knows it because had, as Andrew Neill suggested, Portillo said something about white mothers she would be up in arms. My political persuasion is left of centre but I have never been a fan of Dianne Abbott.

You need to watch the clip again. The line of questionning was not about the education but centred on her comments about West Indian mothers do everything for their kids and the implication, as I suggest above, that other groups don't.

I've not watched the clip but she's plain stupid if didn't think that by going into front line politics she'd be grilled constantly and in a way she doesn't necessarily like. If she doesn't like it then she knows what to do.

However, I still think Boris is a Bufoon.

He may act like one but I'm not convinced it isn't just that - an act. Personally I liked the fact he seemed to answer any questions honestly not worrying too much if he was towing the party line or not. If I lived in London he'd certainly get my vote.
