Hove, f***ing ACTUALLY.
Its a question for NSC's financial 'sector'.

We are thinking about setting one of these up for my Godson, but I dont know much about it other than some bloke I met on holiday telling me it was a good investment oppertunity without the risk of the China/Russia type investments.

Any sugestions or pointers on other similar products, or Gartmore itself would be most helpful.

as 10cc say, not in hove
well gartmore are a serious player, and their "cautious" fund is just that. these funds though are only as good as the people that run them, and they do change over time.

personally, if you want a good risk-free investment opportunity i'd say stick it in ISA (if over 18) or similar for him, you'll pay less introductory commissions and unless your talking big big dollars the returns will porobably be the same. for youngsters pay it into a child trust scheme.
