I don't think you've read up on the story to be honest. Usually in these case, I believe neither side for what its worth.

OK I felt a little guilty that I wasnt up to speed fully but I found one of the Unions Cases sent to the Austrailian Transport Department:
http://www.twu.com.au/CMSPages/GetFile.aspx?nodeguid=9296801d-3a49-4a65-856b-162846f94ef7

and this related article:
Qantas chief Alan Joyce's pay package soars

Seems I was right and the CEO Joyce is just a cut cut cut merchant. He doesn't seem to have the ability to create growth and profit, only to cut to increase profit.

It seems that the Unions are asking for pay rises but at the same time balloted for strike as work, as I said earlier, is being out sourced meaning a loss of jobs. In turn CEO closes down the airline, a tactic used by Willie Walsh during the Aerlingus Pilot strikes. These guys seem to be made of the same stuff and its not Guinness!

So I back the employees that want jobs and a successful airline. I know what its like to care about a company you work for and yet see it slowly being destroyed from the top. Usually by a CEO's drawing huge salaries, bonuses and pay rises. Funny how over 5 years the Qantas shares have fallen 71pc yet that is exactly the same percentage of pay rise Joyce gave himself. Shamefull, these big bosses need to realise that they cant get away with this type of behaviour.

I understand it Qantas are one of a VERY FEW airlines that have a no crash record, and intend to keep it. That has been mentioned in news reports.
I think you will find the passengers on flight 1 on the 23 September 1999 when stepping out onto the golf course in Bangkok
might suggest differently lol

Typical TWU  First 4 pages are the Union attempting to suggest how a multi million pound company should be run - if they think they are so good at it - why don't they run it?

You might not like the report because they are a union but does that mean they are automatically to be dismissed?
They might be right.
