Morning,

Has anyone had chest pain from swimming before?

Pulled a pec muscle weeks ago doing breast stroke, it randomly aches and can't sleep very well some nights.

Doctor just said rest and take Ibuprofen.

I am taking it easy, however still going to work as sitting behind a computer isn't putting much strain on it.

Should I literally stay in bed and rest, or it will heal eventually?

It is very painful, but there is basically nothing you can do for it, other than take some painkillers and get on with it.

Give it 2 weeks or so. Could help doing some extremely light work on it, like lay on the floor and push up with a very light weight (<2KG) and maybe take some protein stuff to help strengthen the muscle so it shouldn't happen again. Pulled muscles are a bitch though, extremely painful especially in that area makes you realise how much the muscles are used in every day life.
