Pubs to use when we are at Falmer

will the game tix inclide train (from 'london rd' station?)
if so, might check that open house out, closer to home
than a 2 change bus trek across town...
The information that was given at the Public Inquiry was that tickets would NOT be on sale at the ground on the day.

However ... tickets would be sold on the day at railway stations (thanks to a deal between the Club and South Central). The price would include rail travel (or bus travel, or park and ride) - just as it does at the moment.

Correct, Turkey.

It's called a sustainable travel plan - aimed at encouraging people to use public transport to get to and from Falmer.

If people insist on driving, they will have to buy tickets in advance, pay a surcharge and arrive at Sussex University with a car that's full of ticket holders. And (unlike Withdean) there will be no legal on-street parking within walking distance of the ground.

What If you walked/cycled to the ground? Could you still not get a ticket?

For games when I'm pushed for time, the pubs around Eastbourne station.

For run-of-the-mill games against the likes of Rotherham, Walsall and Charlton, then Lewes.

For big gmaes against Pompey, Palace and when we are in the first division then will shoot over to Brighton to soak up some of that lovely atmosphere.

And can I say this thread is by far the most exciting for ages. It seems so close now I can almost taste it! Getting off the train at Falmer, ambling along a specially designed footpath, constantly being overwhelmed by the sheer size of the building we call home. Paying homage to whatever player from the past (Charlie Webb) we have a statue of outside the ground. The smell of burger vans OUTSIDE the ground. Then through the shiny new turnstiles, into the concourse, maybe a swift pint in the bar or maybe a bet on at the in ground bookies. Then the magic moment as I ascend the steps into the stand that has become the modern (and seated) equivalent of the North Stand. Looking around this fine stadium I can see rows of blue and white seats being steadily filled by 15,236 fans. We have got BHAFC written into one of the stands while Seagulls in joined up writing is made out of seats at the other end. We will keep the plasticy tunnel thing from Withsean, but there will be one of those parachutey things in the centre circle. The PA system will boom out GOSBTS and possibly that song they used to play at about 2.50pm at the Goldstone. Then Danny Cullip will lead the lads out in gleaming blue and white striped shirts pn this sunny August day as we, for the first time in my real memory, are making an assault on Division One rather than scrapping to stay in there like we have been ever since the glorious promotion year of 03/04. Oh yes, as I say, I can almost taste it....

The Downs in Woodindean

If you dont mind a 20 minute walk to the ground over some fields and fences :)

That's true Joey. The Downs must be one of the closest pubs in the Vincinity of where the stadium'll be built yet there's no buses that go along that part of the Falmer Road, madness.
