Pork pie land.
With Slade once again publicly criticising a specific player (Murray in Todays Argus) I just wondered what everyone feels about this method of man management? I understand that Elphick was very upset by comments made by the manager after his performance against Southend. Can't imagine Murray being to happy either. So good idea to go public or should this be kept in the dressing room?

I would guess that he believes that he is fighting for his job, and felt a need to deflect the blame away from himself.

What, really?

That's scary. Even THINKING about playing Hawkins is bordering on gross misconduct, I mean once was a mistake, it shouldn't have been done but anyone can make a mistake once. To repeat it would've been scandalous.

He was not down to travel to Bristol Rovers. Hawkins was to start alongside Tunnicliffe.

Elphick's 'punishment' for his performance against Southend was to play 45 minutes alongside a trialist in the reserves. And that only happened because Elphick asked to play after being told he was not in first team squad.

So yes, it is TRUE. Slade was going to play Hawkins above Elphick.

As a rule, keep it in house. The more a manager tends to lash out at individuals in public, the more desperate he is becoming.

i think as has been said on here it depends on the type of player and whether they respond postively to it. but dont ya think it also is a good idea to be consistent when your a manger placing the blame. its one thing saying something in public and another in the changing rooms. slade blames his players okay fair enough but blame them for their performance not for petty things. i overheard a player talking to someone after the game saturday and apparently in the changing rooms slade was blaming the defeat on the fact that the lads were on their phones on the coach on the way to the game and the fact that they were supposed to be on the pitch for warm up at 2.15 and didnt get on the pitch until 2.17. slightly petty i would say what does anyone else think.:tantrum:
