This has been cancelled

Mark McGhee is unavailable

An alternate date is being sought (tomorrow at the Greyhound stadium was mooted but not enough time to organise I believe)

Poor effort, Surely Booker or White could have deputised, lets hope an alternative date IS arranged.

what? I'd much prefer a fans forum with McGhee there, next week is fine.

Report from Tim Carder:

Sadly we didn't get as long as we had hoped with Dick Knight and Martin Perry (and Mark McGhee wasn't there, he was watching Reading v Man City) because of the arrival of ... wait for it ... the South Stand!! This necessitated a rearrangement of parked cars which took a fair bit of time.

There were no great revelations that I remember (but it's not always that easy to remember when you are chairing a meeting!). Most of the debate surrounded Falmer with members asking quite a few questions. Martin is extremely upbeat about the whole thing. They do not subscribe at all to the cynical view that JP has put off a decision in some plot to do with the general election. No timetable yet but they are pursuing the Planning Inspectorate to get it firmed up asap. There will be evidence from both sides on the merits/disadvantages of Sheepcote, Withdean, etc. In the end it will be for Prescott to make his mind up on, say, that Sheepcote is possible but you would have to break all government policies on transport to do it.
Is that preferable to Falmer, where the principal criticism seems to be impact on the Sussex Downs AONB? But they agree that JP appears to have accepted the need for the stadium and the criteria are very helpful.
Apparently Reading's Madejski Stadium was given permission before government policy changed on the car-parking provisions (and it was only part of a much larger development), hence they got away with it being miles from the railway station. (I am sure there is a much fuller answer to the question but that was the gist.) Now the policy is to allow just 1 car-parking space in the vicinity for every 15 seats.

Dick said that the two signings, Molango and Jarrett, were not the end of matters, but obviously we've got to find the right players at the right price. Mark McGhee has great faith in the younger players such as Virgo, Harding, etc.

Dick knows that some people do not like the new shirts, but I'm afraid we didn't have time to press him on the point because most people wanted to talk about Falmer.

I understand BBC Southern Counties were scheduled to have a live fans forum from Southwick FC on Thursday, but this won't now happen because Mark McGhee is not available. Apparently it mght still be recorded on Wednesday for broadcasting Thursday, but it hasn't been arranged yet. I have heard the greyhound stadium mentioned. If it is, another chance to ask questions about shirts!
