Good question, but I wouldn't know the exact distance.
At a guess I would say it was quicker to get from Brighton station to Spoons in West St.

Perhaps King & Queen is a safer option as it's slightly away from town center ?

If the police were suggesting the away fans jump on buses to the Amex when they have finished drinking, this wouldn't be a bad idea.
Maybe there is an easy route from the K & Q to Brighton station if the away fans needed a police escort.

I guess King & Queen is out of the way a bit, but keeps West street free for the tourists ?

Despite the result, and the manner of it, we had a great time in the Wellington. There were about 20-30 Cottagers (I know, it's deliberate) there including some I've never seen before, a few I have but didn't know and a teacher from my daughter's school. I left when the jaegerbombs started!
