It is funny how through NSC one can feel an attachment to, and empathy with, people you've never met; I find myself reading the 'leg pain' thread and feeling really pleased when the guys get good news. Hope everything goes ok for you too 'Freddie Goodwin', all the best.

I am back, i survived and today I was able to watch Mrs cutting the grass whilst I sat back with a long (fruit) dring and wearing short shorts!

The PR is a great place, everymember of staff was so cheerful and nothing was too much trouble. I was worried when they decided not to give me a general anni but I was numbed from the waist down and had something 'to calm me' which virtually put me out although I woke before end of op.

Staff at Cuckfield Ward were very good, food was good too. felt sorry for 2 old boys either side of me who i don't think will be around much longer.

Anyway, I am now man-bag free and it was great to take my 1st pee and my 1st bath (though not together) since the end of May. If anybody else has to have the TURP op then really it's not too bad. Just got to take it easy for a few weeks and I can do that!

Thanks again for the wonderful comments xx

Glad to hear everything went well, Freddie Goodwin.

The Princess Royal hospital looks after its patients properly. I remember the nurses changing my dad's red peebag every hour or so and him flirting with them! Best wishes for a quick recovery.

Afraid my experience of the Princess Royal was not as good. Was informed by the doctor on Balcombe ward that my father would be better off at home than staying on the ward as the noro virus was in the hospital at the time.Silly me thought that going to hospital was for improving your health.
