Premiership Managers On Failing Youth Academies

and my list above shows clubs do.

If you did that we would still have players like Jody Morris playing in top flight.

Funny how we have not failed to get to a major final since the influx of forign players

Also funny that France have not failed to qualify for a mjor finals recently too. They have far more home grown talent in their top division.

It depends if by home grown you mean African.

There are loads.....all your list shows are players brought through the academy and still with the same club........e.g Bentley - was ARSEnal now Blackburn, Warnock - was Liverpool now Blackburn etc.....

I mean players that have been brought through their youth acadamies whether they are born in Africa and have dual citizenship is irrelevant. The key thing is they have been brought through the French youth acadamey system.

Aren't we missing the point here, it's the Premiership managers who are saying the acadamies are failing. Why do think that is?
Because it costs more money to develop a youth team player than go out and by someone at 20-21 years old.
Also wasn't the idea of the acadamies to produce a line of future England talent. I haven't seen Bentley or Warnock play for England much lately have you?

NSC's Most Stalked
its only top flight managers that are complaining about the failing youth academies.

every other club makes a living out of producing the talent and selling them on for profit

if you put a youngster in at any level higher than they are perceived, they will improve

look at our boys, by all rights, the likes of robinson, cox, fraser, rents etc should all be playing at team slike worthing. but we put them in at league 1 level and they adapted really well, and have become much better players and at a faster rate than what was probably predicted.

the same goes for crewe with the likes of varney, maynard etc

What part of my post do you think is bollocks?
There is not that many English players there that play for English clubs is there? The whole point of the acadamies as I see it was to help the England team in the long run. The more English players playing in Premiership sides the better for England. As I see it there aren't many English first team players playing in the Premiership nowadays.

Sorry Missed your post.

Basically the Premiership doesn't give a shit about bringing on young English players anymore,

That part.

Bu aren't Arsenal the exception the rule nowadays? They seem to be the only club that plays a lot of their youth team players, like in the Carling Cup. A lot of Premiership clubs like to buy cheaper young foreign talent as English young players cost far more money.

Ok that is a fair comment, perhaps I should have worded my statement thus:

Basically the Premiership doesn't give as much importance to bringing on young English talent as it used to 5-10 years ago.

Can you blame them £7 million for Ashton?! - Even Pardew said they had been done.
£21 million for swp?
WBA want 10million for Davis
Soton 10 for bates - you could buy an international with 50 caps for less than half that.
