Oh ok I see your point. Not sure we can expand beyond 30k without quite a lot of hassle. Assume we projected figures when planning the potential capacity and came to 30k.

If we were in Europe on the other hand...

Its difificult to assess really. When you think we used to get nearly 35k rammed into the Goldstone in the late 70s for big games in old Division 2, I am not convinced that 30k at the Amex is enough.

Seat prices obviously important and I expect the powers that be would rather have 30k capacity and people fighting for tickets rather than spend cash and hassle on making it 40k and not filling it.

I didn't think it was possible to expand to more then 30k. After the second east tier and the corners filled, you can't add any more without raising the roof. But all of this must have been analysed and re-analysed during planning, as it has always been TB's aim to get to the prem asap.

my understanding is that they can not raise the roof now due to the changes in building regs.... It was discussed option of lowering the pitch tho!! Im sure they have something up their sleeve!!! :)

raising the roof is impossible and i really don't think its possible to expand any more than 30k, lowering pitch would just make the pitch smaller, 30k is our limit and we will be fine with that, if we sell out 30k each week we will be laughing :)

I think to sustain a long stay in the premiership you'd need a weekly gate of 40k.

We will just have to build a bigger stadium somewhere else! Oh!

Its difficult this one. Brighton's success has been 1910 Charity Shield and then the late 70's and the top flight, then the 83 cup final. However even playing third division football the Albion could pull in 35000. However as an established top flight club in Brighton's catchment area? Who knows but potentially very big and much bigger than 30K.

go tell stoke that who have progressed very well and are now a solid team in the premier league with arguably the loudest fans on a capacity of 27k :)

Depends on how much dosh is coming from a chairman and how much is coming from gates/tv e.t.c.
