according to goal.com done in Jan 2011. Club by club, I guess some will have re-signed and will be unaffordable and/or above our championship status and not willing to come to us.

But are there any on this list of potentially available Premier league players, that you think could be pursuaded to come and who could improve us significantly?

(their is one listed for Newcastle United on a bosman, I wouldn't mind getting!!)

With a sensible head and being realistic of targets from that list - Jordan Mutch, Kazenga, Micahel Kightly and Simon Cox.

Equally would love to see the likes of seamus coleman, Seb Larsson etc etc etc

ees complicated no?

Apart from KLL (if fit) it would be good to get a couple of Premiership class players. But only if they will fit into our playing system and are hungry and up for some graft in the Championship....no prima donnas please.

Not sure we want to break our Championship wage structure for some ex-Premiership talent? The current situation re Murray's contract suggests that Tony Bloom will not just flash the cash.

In reality it wouldn't surprise me if Gus looked at one or two foreign players rather than expensive Premiership rejects.

Saw this list a while ago, obviously some players will sign short contracts or move to prem clubs but lots will be available. Friedel I think would be a possibility 40 but has probably got a season in him. Cox/Roberts as strikers (I think championship is their level). Luke young 32 wise head ? Reo-cocker what has happened to him ? would be expensive but the sort of player that Gus could rejuvinate. I haven't even looked at the championship list. We have a solid team already 6 good players and we will be challenging for play offs. Elmander ? on fire at strat of season then faded.

I actually wondered, as Gus's was former assistant manager and probably good friend, if Carlo Cudicini could be pursuaded if the money wasn't an issue.
Got to be better than warming the bench.

agree with Hastings, people going for more sensible targets and Stumpy Tim Gudjohnson? I thought that (dreamed more like), Gus mate from Chelsea, been out of sorts and not playing at Stoke, and it seems to me that Gus has got a bit of the Harry Redknapp about him to transform players under achieving and give them a new lease of life and confidence.

Bowyer, Larsson, Roberts, Elmander, Murphy, Upson, Dyer? HA. They're all easily on 40 or 50k a week+. Dyer has been on 60k for the last 3 years and played about 4 games. Almost everyone on that list will get picked up by Fulham/Wigan/West Brom/Blackburn etc, whoever doesn't go down this year. Kightly was tracked by Liverpool not too long ago, Elmander's scored about 15 in the Prem this year - there isn't a cock's chance in Jordan's bedroom of us getting even close to signing players like that. We'll snap up leading L1 players, unwanted but experienced Championship players, unknown foreigners from the continent and MAYBE Wood back on loan/LuaLua on a free. But f*** all chance of England international Matt Upson.

How about a former team mate of Gus at Chelsea - Eidur Gudjohnsen. Utterly unrealistic but I would LOVE it

That would be awesome  :albion1:

Hahahahahaha are you serious?

Yeah sort of thought that, if we are interested in Darren Carter from relegation threatened Preston, I think Alcantara might just be a tad out of reach until the 12/13 season when we're in prem!!

And the fact that Barca think he is a potential superstar and are starting to get him more involved around the first team squad.
