The SPL is very competitive. lots of teams challenging Celtic this season :D

I work with a big Aberdeen fan and he was telling me today that there's a debate going on amongst Scottish football clubs over whether they should just play their kids against Celtic because there's no point in trying to go for the win. The idea would be to ignore them effectively, and just see second place and the Europa league as the unofficial Scottish champions position.

I like the idea of ignoring Celtic. If they could get away with playing kids against them, then who exactly would want to sign for them? Already Lennon has stated that they can't compete with the likes of West Brom if they wanted to both sign a player.

When they threw Rangers out, they needed to jettison Celtic as well in order to do a proper reset of Scottish football.

Next season in Scottish Div 1 will be interesting with both Hearts and Rangers in that same league.

What has Celtic done wrong ? It was Rangers who got themselves liquidated. Starting again as a new club, you have to start in the bottom league. However, maybe both clubs being invited to play in the English leagues maybe the best way forward.

I think it's just the stranglehold that both teams have had over the game north of the border that has nullified the game there. That's all they've done wrong.
