Lawro has gone for 1-1

Brighton v West Ham

Both of these sides have had good seasons, but especially West Ham. David Moyes's side seem to give everyone a good game - with leaders Manchester City another example last weekend.

As I've been saying all season, the Hammers do not have the biggest squad but it looks like they only need a couple more additions in order to challenge properly for the Champions League spots next time.

Brighton are not quite at that level but they are still trying to beat their best-ever league finish, which was 13th in the top-flight in 1981-82. I think they'll do it too.

Lawro's prediction: 1-1

As I understand it, we can finish anywhere between 8th and 14th.

8th position is worth achieving:

8th £28.6 million ($35.4 million)
9th £26.4 million ($32.7 million)
10th £24.2 million ($29.9 million)
11th £22 million ($27.2 million)
12th £19.8 million ($24.5 million)
13th £17.6 million ($21.8 million)
14th £15.4 million ($19.1 million)

IF Liverpool, Man City and Spurs all lose, and we win or draw, we'll be the only team without a L at the start of next season...

Just saying.

For us:

If we win, we're 10th at worst, but could snatch 8th with other results going our way (Leicester draw and Wolves lose).

If we draw, we finish 10th, 11th, or 12th. To fall to 12th would require Newcastle to smash in double-digits, so the reality is 10th or 11th, and to fall to 11th would mean Brentford winning by 3(?). So a draw could be enough to see us 10th.

If we lose, depending on other results we could drop as low as 14th. However, dropping that low would require all four of Brentford, Newcastle, Villa, and Palace winning.

So the fixtures of interest for us:

Liverpool vs Wolves - Liverpool to win please.
Leicester vs Saints - a draw or win for Saints please.
Brentford vs Leeds - if we draw or better, Brentford to win and send Leeds down, otherwise a draw.
Burnley vs Newcastle - Burnley win (to send Leeds down and help us in the event we lose) or draw. Newcastle win is ok as long as we don't lose (esp. if it pushes Palace lower on table).
Palace vs Man U - Man U to win or draw.
Man C vs Villa - Villa to not win, unless we draw or better - in which case, would love to see them push Man C all the way to keep title interest alive until the dying minutes of the season.

Thanks for the summary. Useful. I'll refer to it on Sunday as the results unfold...
