Predicting the Blues - Rankings after the Bristol City and Notts County games

REPORT AFTER THE BRISTOL CITY & NOTTS COUNTY GAMES

First of all … an apology for failing to get a report posted after the Bristol City game. No excuse, really, just a deep depression about a 4-1 defeat. But after Notts County, things are looking up again.

I guess it’ll be no surprise that no-one got maximum points in the Bristol City game. Just like Lincoln City, the previous week. 28 people managed two points for combining the defeat with either a single goal for the Albion or a three goal margin of victory. Eight people got one point for the defeat, but this select group had both teams’ scores wrong. And another 32 people got a single point for predicting that the Albion would score once – even though they were expecting either a 1-0 victory or a 1-1 draw. No-one expected Bristol City to score four times.

There were 73 players who scored no points at all for the Bristol City result. Dreadful!

Things were much, much better in the Notts County game. For the first time in weeks, there were players who scored the maximum five points for predicting the 2-1 victory. 16 of you. Congratulations.

Then there were the 22 players who score two points for combining a prediction of the Albion victory with the correct score for one of the teams, or the correct margin of victory. Even the bizarre entry by Italiaseagull (1234-1235) achieved this.

45 players score one point for one of the following predictions:- an Albion victory with County failing to score and the Albion scoring either one or three goals (correct result, but wrong scores for both teams); a County victory with the correct score for just one of the teams (1-0, 3-2 or 4-2 achieves this); or a 1-1 or 2-2 draw (correct score for one of the teams, but wrong result).

And 32 players score no points – for getting everything wrong.

THE SEASON SO FAR

fatbadger still leads the PtB Super League, the Table for players who haven’t missed a match all season. Worthing Keith is still second and Spiros is third. There are now four players equal in fourth place. Trigger andHeidi are now back on level terms with each other at the bottom of the table.

In the Champions League – the Table for players who have entered three-quarters of the games – Bailers is still top. But Zebedee has jumped up into second place, thanks to his success at Notts County. WhitleyDennis is still stuck at the bottom.

In the Full Table, Only 2 Kerry Mayos and Bald Gull still occupy the top two places, while down at the bottom, GJG has been joined by Curious Orange.



PLAYER OF THE MONTH – NOVEMBER

The early leader, Le Premier Cru has now been overtaken by Albion Edd, who scored maximum points at Notts County. Another top scorer at Notts County, Seagullsgonnagetya, is in joint second place with Le Premier Cru (who has only managed a single point in the last two games). The winner will be announced after the Wrexham game next Saturday.




YELLOW CARDS

The following 14 players will be eliminated from the competition, under the “Miss Six Games And You’re Out” rule if they don’t make a prediction for the Wrexham game:- alan partridge, Another Berkshire Seagull, Bognor Blue & White, Danny Seagull's Mate, Formerly Known as DEZ, GJG, Kalimantan Gull, Mad Gerald, poke, readingstockport, Sam, simon swagbag, tainan and teaboy.
