Poyet's an embarrassment, 10th if we're lucky, not bothering with Burnley...

August 2009. First league game of the season in League 1. Norwich 1 Colchester 7. What happened that season? Norwich went up.

What happened the next season? They went up again.

Can you imagine the Norwich forums after that Colchester game? I bet they went into meltdown. I also suspect the same idiots on their forum felt a bit silly come the end of the season.

Hither (sometimes Thither)
I haven't used "ignore" before, but tonight i did. I always thought some online turds won't upset me, and they haven't, but they're bringing me down and i don't want to react to their uninventive monotony. I think i have to CBT myself and not look to respond, not allow them to get my goat as that's largely what they want, a goat, any of our goats, one they kidnap and skin and eat in front of us so we'll all remember them as these maverick figures playing the rules by their own book, a goat cookery book. All it does is make me think i shouldn't open threads about the Albion, which is a shame as i want to know more and enter the odd debate and tussle with the odd renegade over their thoughts on a game that i saw differently. But it's always the extremes that are aired: everyone's shit, Gus is a failure, it's all gone wrong, what a shit season we should all expect. It's just depressing. So, i'll dangle my finger over the ignore button like the sword of Damacles on a regular basis, i think. No one will see and no one will really care, and by jingo they shouldn't. Just saying what actions i tend to believe i should take to keep getting enjoyment from my visits here.

One guy even invaded the pitch to throw his season ticket at Bryan Gunn. What a plank!:tantrum:

I'm actually not that upset last year the league cup ruined our momentum so if we forget this match why should we care about this meaniless cup match which is basically a pre-season friendly

Last night did highlight a few familiar problems which still need to be addressed.

1. Lack of fire power. Great build up play lacking the finishing touch, but we were missing Buckley and Crofts.
2. The defense switches off at crucial moments.
3. Vicente, who we know is brilliant and better than this division, is still expected to do too much.
4. Swindon is still a bad hunting ground for the Albion.
5. Poyet is a reasonable championship manager but might not manage in the Premiership.

On the plus side.

1. Attractive football.
2. Only one other cup composition to distract us from the league.
3. The result brought us down to earth after beating Chelsea and showed us that we WILL NEED TO WORK HARD to even get a sniff of the play- offs.
4. The club can attract the likes of Bridge, Bruno, Vicente and Kuszczak.

I think people should be able to voice their concerns on NSC without the usual "Poyet is god and can't do anything wrong" brigade getting the undies in a twist.

It's going to be a long hard season so expect a few knocks along the way.
