[h=3]Poyet: It was an unfortunate mistake[/h]6:03pm Saturday 30th March 2013 in Albion By Brian Owen
Gus Poyet admitted an “unfortunate mistake” cost Albion victory today.
But he was also critical of their first-half display in the 2-2 draw at Nottingham Forest.
Casper Ankergren allowed a tame Henri Lansbury shot to slip through as Forest grabbed their second equaliser on 90 minutes.
Leo Ulloa, whose second-half display was described by the manager as “spectacular”, and Will Buckley netted for the Seagulls.
Poyet said: “My reaction is we gave 45 minutes away for no reason, then a more than decent second half performance with a very unfortunate mistake at the end.
“In the first half we did nothing to win the game. We were not aggressive enough, we were not positive enough.
“Then at half-time we changed a few things and from the first action we had half a chance.
“After that, in front of goal I thought we were the better team in the second half without a doubt.
“If we take the second half, I’m happy about the attitude, the desire, the quantity of chances, the goals and the way we took it, the performance of a few players. Very good.
“But at the end of the day it’s a draw.”
