Albion Reach Agreement With University
Albion_yesterday submitted a planning application to modify Village Way to improve the access arrangements to the proposed Bus and Coach Park which will serve the new stadium at Falmer.
The club have modified their plans in agreement with the University of Brighton._The University are supporting the stadium proposals at Falmer so long as agreement can be reached on issues that enable the campus and the stadium to successfully co-exist.
The University_were_not happy with the access arrangements that were proposed in the original application._The modified layout meets their concerns and they will be supporting this new application. Discussion on the remaining issues is making good progress.
It is anticipated that this latest application will be ‘called in’ by the Secretary of State in order that it can be considered with the main application for the stadium when the Inquiry resumes in October._All the main parties at the Inquiry signed up to a procedure that would allow this to happen.
Albion Chief Executive Martin Perry said, “We are very pleased we have been able to agree these modifications with the University of Brighton and we are grateful to them for their support.”
