Details of the consultation period and subsequent vote:

Interesting.

I mean whilst the narrative in their FAQ is clear - especially given the no voting rights nature of his position - I cannot fathom what this does for 'us'. Sure we're not a parent club but one has to hope this provides an angle to let our strong youth contingent play in competitive football, albeit at a standard similar to the Championship.

He's not doing this to hope that in five years Hearts have won a couple of trophies and his £10m/29% shareholding becomes worth say £30-50m as that does nothing for a man of his means.

What do we think the end goal is with this? Seems like at face value and I say this with caution and a warning for snowflakes that could it be an ego trip for TB? (God knows he's earned the right and I'm not against this btw just that I can't see how it helps us specifically)

Maybe Tony would just like to see if his model can break up the Rangers/Celtic monopoly on the Scottish top two?

Why should it do something for "us"? It's not about us. I'd imagine he's doing it because he can, because it's a challenge, and because shaking things up a bit and knocking those two off their perch is an irresistible project and would be quite fun. Calling it an "ego trip" is a bit unnecessarily negative in my opinion.

Dude, he supports us, has invested in his tenure close to half a billion pounds on us and when he made the investment in USG originally it was two fold - a pathway for us to bring overseas players to Europe and then have them qualify for a UK visa whilst not necessarily meeting the full international criteria at the time so to date everything he does has been for us.

I mean no disrespect by calling it an ego trip I am purely interested in the modus operandi.

I’d have thought that the value to TB is the increased data available to his people. The more clubs he has enrolled and using his data in decision-making, the quicker he can identify areas for improvement and refine his algorithms.

I suspect we won’t see a concrete and immediately identifiable benefit, but I’m willing to bet that behind the scenes his data people are making the most of these additional strands of data.

The intangible benefit will be the improvement of the algorithms and decision-making tools available to those at Brighton, USG and Hearts.

Of course he has invested most with Brighton, as Brighton is his club and will hopefully always remain top of his agenda. However, maybe dragging up the Albion to where we are now has given him a taste for doing the same for other clubs. So he has managed to do it for down-on-its-luck USG, which must have been enormously satisfying, and now wants the challenge of doing the same in Scotland and challenging that hugely tedious Celtic/Rangers monopoly. Imagine being in a position to do that, just because you want to and you can, not for any other reason? But I might be wrong, of course, maybe there's an ulterior motive designed to benefit the Albion.

BTW, I've never been duded before...

£10m for a third of the club sounds cheap.
Maybe he thinks it’s a chance to make money relatively easily and quickly.
With the added challenge of at least toppling Rangers.

I think we need to at least consider the possibility that he's completely lost his mind.

I think it's been said before....it's all part of a Succession parody joke that he is playing on a Hibs fan.....they'll be disappointed when they open their birthday present and find those share certificates......

I mean even if they qualify for the Champions League group stage once that's €17 million that goes into Hearts' coffers. Do that a couple of years, sell a couple of players and I'm sure he has his investment back.
