The BBS is a joy to read. Complaints on there today include: the number of empty seats at Selhurst Park today, the lack of atmosphere, Parish being abused by some home fans, their new defender Hangeland being useless, Championship football an inevitability, insufficient legroom with some of the new seating they've had put in... etc.

Happy with the win, of course, but being a football fan doesn't automatically make me bipolar! The same problems as when we lost remain, and I wasn't too downhearted then either. Everyone was slagging Sami for looking "defeated" after our losses, he gave EXACTLY the same style of interview after we WON...

Are yes, but now we know we can actually play a bit. Yes we'll lose again, but we also know we're still looking to strengthen, so should only get stronger.
That makes me confident we can push for the play offs again

We all know there's still work to be done in the transfer market, but we played well today and come from behind to win the game so lets enjoy the moment and worry about the next defeat when it happens.

I see a lot of theatre.
What happens when a big show, especially a musical, starts to wind down, is they cut costs. The principal actor leaves, so rather than hiring an expensive, equally experienced actor to fill the part, rehearsing them at great expense etc, the producers "promote" the understudy.
Now, what's wrong with this is that you now lack the cover in depth, should that understudy, who is remember already a cheap replacement in effect, has no capable understudy so you end up seeing an under-rehearsed, inexperienced kid being pushed forward into the limelight at a level above their station with limited experience and often insufficient talent to be there
In our case;
Ulloa (sold)
CMS (promoted from understudy to principal)
Fenelon (now, terrifyingly with little professional football experience is now first cover)
And much like theatre, the ticket price is always the same even if you see a team full of "understudies"

Completely agree with your comments. The big positive today was Teixeira, we at last have a midfielder who plays with a touch and movement that is Prem class. The other two new boys looked OK but bigger tests await them so we'll see how they cope then. Greer has also had an outstanding start to the season. Dunk looked a bit error prone at times with his marking and passing so maybe we'll see Hughes back before long. Calde did well in the attacking full back role - which is ironic as he might have been the player Sami was about to sacrifice on 35 mins for LuaLua?
Bolton looked utterly devoid of confidence, couldn't make more than 3 passes and relied totally on long ball. Not long for Dougie on that display because he has a very decent squad there, probably even better than ours

It's hard not to be bipolar when (judging on the seasons performances) the team clearly is.
Today's performance would have handed the team that played Wednesday
their arses to them on a plate.At the moment all we're left to do is wonder which team will dominate the season.
Naturally we all are hoping and dream it's today's team.

Really enjoyed the game and the way we played. The only concern from it is that, with the exception of Greer and Dunk, we've not got a lot of height at defending set pieces which Mills exploited having gone close just before (or it may well have been the equally large Wheater). Leo used to win an awful lot of defensive headers as did Barnes and Murray before him. Every time they lobbed the ball in the box, we looked nervy.
That aside, the players looked so much more comfortable with the style Sami is trying to implement and some of the stuff we played was great to watch. Just need a bit more height.
