It probably should have been. But known divers often don't get the benefit of the doubt.

Refs will already know all about him.

But VAR surely has a look and then it doesn’t matter if the ref thinks he’s a diver or not. That was clear cut for me.

Regardless of his performance this is very useful for us. Gives Connelly a really workout and plenty of game time. There's a good footballer in there.

Reckon Kenny will be happy with him tonight despite how he got on wrong side of ref

We're back in that ambiguous "clear and obvious" zone to not award it then. If the VAR thinks that the ref hasn't dropped an absolutely blatant bollock, then it should stay out of it. After the shitshow we've had in the PL, I'm in favour of that threshold being raised.

He was clattered, but I think it was after he had got his (off-target) shot away.
