Koh Thai is an all you can eat restaurant, on Kings Road which isn't too far from Gunwharf if you're walking.

No doubt, but it'll also be identical to the one in Chichester, or Brighton, or London or the Outer Hebrides. Albert Road, in Southsea, in my opinion, is more interesting, with it's small independent traders

Is Albert Road ,Southsea walkable from Gunwharf or is it too far?

The afternoon tea at The Parade Tea Rooms on Southsea Common is exceptional if you like that sort of thing. Served from 3pm. Don't have lunch, and you may not have much room for dinner later either!!

Oakford in Devon
Ship Anson which is straight down from Pompey Harbour train station.
Proper old pub and good beer
Or try The White Swan up by Guildhall Square, it has its own micro brewery

You could hop on the Gosport ferry and nip over the water, there's some decent stuff over there as well
