But therein lies the problem. Supposedly Abramovitch loves Chelsea, however when he walks away someone will have to take on the loans. It is exactly the same with Tony Bloom

Whether we like it or not, he has invested personally money into the club to build the stadium and fund the club ( Yes there are other directors and shareholders who have put in money, but proportionally much less) If he at sometime in the future decides to walk away, which no-one knows when, he will expect to sell the stadium ( I am 100% sure he is not doing this out of some charitee goodwill) at that time, we will have to find a very rich buyer.

At the mean time, its up to us to sit back and enjoy the ride for as long its going to last!!!

Aston Villa?

Manu Utd?

Man Utd's debts were reported as £700m earlier this year
Manchester United debt soars to 700m despite record season - Telegraph

It's all right as long as they can make repayments but just one poor season and they're in big trouble.

And if you think that's unlikely, remember that Man U were relegated in the early 70s after Busby retired. Or look at Liverpool who dominated English football for 15 years and might not qualify for Europe this year. Or Leeds, CL semi-finalists and five years later being relegated to the third division. Having that level of debt leaves a club as a hostage to fortune.

I agree that Villa seems to be a well-run club though.

just because you are clear in your mind what you think the situation is doesn't stop you listening to other points of view does it?

As a Spurs fan are you not all worried?

Harry's old Clubs: Portsmouth, Southampton, West Ham, Bournemouth

Not really, our chairman seems to have his head screwed on and we were one of only two clubs to make a profit last year I believe.

Levy knows how how to make money. Made a profit on Bent,Zakora,Robinson,Chimbonda and Keane this year add the massive profit on Berba.

Harry knows the chairman wont open his wallet unless he sells, which is something I can see them falling out about.

Players Portsmouth are losing to the African nations are Kevin-Prince Boateng, Aruna Dindane, Hassan Yebda, John Utaka, Nwankwo Kanu and Nadir Belhadj.

but we are 4th from bottom of league 1, there is no happy christmas if we lose to swindon......
How on earth do you come to that conclusion? Swindon is just one league game which will soon be forgotten (really soon if we beat Orient and Wycombe). Palace and Portsmouth's problems go far deeper than worrying about the result of their next match - or even where they finish this season.

Pompey are a complete joke. They still owe money to Chelsea for Glenn Johnson, who they've already sold, you'd assume on a massive profit. They still owe Spurs money for Defoe (since sold back) and Kaboul. And worst of all, they still owe money to Watford (on the brink of administration themselves) for Tommy Smith and Mike Williamson (who ?). They also owe money to two overseas clubs, previous owner Gaydamak, and the Inland Revenue. Yet they reckon the FAPL will lift the transer embargo to allow Avram Grant to make MORE signings in January ?!

At least Scudamore is talking tough this time, saying that Pompey need to find at least £10m for their cerditors first, before the embargo is lifted. Lets hope he STICKS to that and holds them to it.

Personally i get no joy from either Pompey or Palace being in dire straits - it's a sad reflection of the way money and greed have ****** up the game that i love.

It's a result all round with Pompey and Palace up shit street. Hopefully THFC can go the same way (sorry Kinky but they are a club supported by wankers) and it's looking good with the current lack of available funds for transfers.

This post made my day, love this situation.

Did clubs not have mony troubles before the Premiership?

They did but it was very rare. I watched for football for 25 years before the Prem started and I can remember a handful of clubs going into admin. I'm not going to try to count the number who have done so since 1992.

How many have gone bust though?

At least TBloom is local and loves the club. These foreign investors just buy these clubs to play with and when they get bored they throw it away and buy a new toy. We must ensure the Albion never gets in to this situation.

You'd better hope that any helicopter he uses is well maintained..remember Matthew Harding?
