This is a capitalist society (worse luck) - if farming isn't profitable and only exists with the help of massive state subsidies then shouldn't it go the way of other "traditional ways of life" such as mining and steelworking.

Why should farmers be a special case?

Ok i took abuse about fox hunting time and time again over the past months not for defending the people but the life around them

and had some intresting replys but this f***ing reply on the farmers as natures nazis is f***ing ridiclous are you a complete f*** wit

dont answer i allready know farmers have looked after and shaped the land for thousands of years fed the nation and the traditional farmer is dying out to the big farming groups and foriegn cheap and some times un safe produce

80% of farmers struggle to stay above debt Farmers have the highest suicide rate in Britain as a profession

and you spout f***ing shit about fences which we do use we accept some loss to foxes thats life

and you seem to know absloutly nothing about farming and country life

shut the f*** up or get your facts right

The nature's nazi's jibe was from an old Jack Dee sketch.

However fences, fine not a good idea. But all this shite spouted that hunting is a way of controlling foxes is untrue. They need to look at ways of protecting their livestock, rather than letting people in costumes charge over their land.

irrelevant to you but obviously not many others.

i am sure it would be the same with other heated topics

I would venture that there aren't "many" who have an informed opinion on fox-hunting either way.

Personally, all I know about foxes is that they make a right mess when they go foraging in bin-bags. I've never had the urge to chase one around the countryside because of this, but that doesn't mean I'd want to stop anyone else doing so.

The main irritant as far as I'm concerned is the use of parliamentary time on this subject, and the fact that they then didn't decide to ban ALL forms of hunting for pleasure, which strikes me as hypocritical in the extreme..... Of course, with angling being one of the most popular passtimes such a blanket ban would be impossible to actually become law.

Our family has 3 farms in Cornwall.
After talking to 2 of my Uncles who own said farms, both have said they were all for banning Fox hunting, whilst the third didn't give a toss either way.
Seems more than "Townies " feel this way.

Bottom line is that it is stone age mentality to think ripping a fox to bits after chasing it all over gods creation is cool.

Market forces have shown that it is cheaper to make food in countries other than the UK.
If we can't compete then we die.

The economic freedom of foreign farmers to undercut UK farmers.
There's libertarianism for you.

I applaud this libertarianism of which you speak.

Oh, don't forget, I'd like to know what 'direct democracy' is, ta!

i am part of a farming family i agree that the industry must be compertive but dont agree that we should sell our products for less than they took to grow

the supermarkets screw us the Public are unaware and we use products which really are not up to Euro standards in the supermarkets

also we cant compete with America, New zealand, South amaerica who heavily subsidise there farming.

uncle buck

to be honesty i dont give a f*** where the Nazi jibe came from if you are willing to use it you think along the same lines

have you every seen free range Chickens? well look carfully those poles with a rope like mess attached to them is called an electric fence keeps foxes out chickens in

Also free range chicken 85% of them never come out of the barn chicken like heavy cover and feel nervous in the conditions so not very free range supermarkets get you to pay more for what???

so i am about f***ed off with the farmer attitude. Hunts well we dont let tham on our land they f*** up the crops.

foxes are a non issue

we are NOT Nazis time to wake up and f***ing look at the world around you instead of listing to a second rate comic

thanks but

its the quotes that come on here from some twats

we want to be compertive etc

and in many posts farmers are to blame or heavily linked for fox hunting. Bollocks most who do it in the big hunts are ex city with stacks of cash and want a bit of the country life

and if we can get the money off these twats fair play.

and before i have loads of posts about rich ex city people not doing it come up to the local Sleaford hunt you will see that i am not lying

If people want to comment about farming fair enought

But they can go f*** them selfs if i have another Nazi comment. To be liked to thes people is the highest insult people can say ask the Mayor of London

I think it might be he has a slightly more liberal attitude than you.

With your prejudices, you should fit in well in the countryside, no outsiders and all that.

Yet again, you have proved that you are a complete idiot. Outsiders, in my own experience, are always made very welcome in the countryside. Although, you are probably an exception to that and it is probably personal. :shootself
