Poor Holland

Was just thinking in the last 3 European chamionships they've been in the 'group of death'.
In Euro 2000 they were with France, Czech Republic and Denmark
In Euro 2004 it was Germany, Czech Republic and Lativa
And now they've obviously got Italy, France and Romania.

Why does this always happen to them? Oh and in the last world cup they had Argentina, Serbia and Ivory Coast in what was the toughest group.

Put up the Euro 2008 wall chart yesterday (sad geek) and was thinking that ALL the groups look scary and that the current England team would struggle against ANY team in the competition, with the possible exception of Austria/Switzerland.

We absolutely do not deserve to be there. :(

They still have a better record than we do and we've never been drawn in any of the perceived toughest groups in previous tournaments we've made it to

Holland will never do well, unless they manage to stop their suicidal tendency of destroying any sort of team spirit within the camp.

What rot.

This is the golden generation, Lush. Our failure to qualify is obviously the fault of McClaren and only McClaren. These guys would not be multi-millionaires and earn tens of £1,000s a week if they could not qualify on their own, surely? The golden generation have been let down badly. Poor souls.

I just hope that the players use their summers wisely and take a well earned break from their tiring endeavours. I am secretly hoping that Rio puts his efforts into an autobiography. I shall add his Picture Pop-Up Book to my list of Birthday presents. At least the poor chap can take some solace from a best selling auto-biography.

Van Horseface told the press at training camp yesterday that he was "positively surprised by the manner in which everyone is pulling together"

So expect the fireworks to begin any time now.

On the subject of fireworks, don't let any off near any Dutch fans otherwise they may go up in smoke. Also in the news here is that one in three orange wigs, feather boas and other orange merchandise on sale is highly inflammable.

And if that doesn't get them, almost a quarter of the orange things contain levels of cadmium (used to produce the colour) that are way above legal limits...

Was it the Dutch fans that were forced to de-robe at the previous World Cup as a gaggle of them were wearing clothes advertising a rival beer to the 'tournament beer'? Forcing them to watch in their undies?
