It's to do with the delusions of Pompey fans that they didn't cheat mainly - you know, the greatest fans in the world. They also denied there was anything wrong at the club despite the national press telling there was, including our very own @Not Andy Naylor.

Wasn't Corrigan's debut, no... It was Willie's last appearance for us (he only played three games), was replaced by his far superior namesake Eric for the rest of the season.

I am reasonably certain that during our days in Div III South we had a long unbeaten period but not sure when the first defeat was.

I remember the hopes of promotion that season. Sadly we finished 2nd to Ipswich Town who claimed the single promotion spot.
