Good god, we can't have loads of sending offs and injuries- poor old Pompey's squad (of 40) can barely survive as it is, what with them being down to the bare bones and all.

It's a miracle 'Arry gets them to even turn up every week, they're so threadbare and injury hit. A true miracle, what a wonder you are, 'Arry...

I once went to Palace v Portsmouth i think in 1985 or 86 May bank holiday, both teams were battling for promotion 10,000 Portmouth fans crammed in the holmsdale road end, cant remember the score but remember seeing Palace fans getting run and battered all around the streets surrounding the ground, and in the ground!!

Dont know why I went to this game, I was only 14, I think Brighton were away to Bradford and I couldn't afford the train!

Fair comment.
Dowie to head but Redknapp and break his nose again in the process.

Surely not, he'll ruin his ravishing good looks :lolol:

In fact, this clash could quite accurately be termed the battle of the two ugliest men in football.

Won't somebody think of the children?!

I was there too - Ian Wright in the 89th minutes wasn't it? I remember picking my route home fairly carefully.

Palace to win this Saturday of course.

I have been a 'neutral' at various games at Selhurst, ones I remember the most are Palace v Millwall in 1986 I think, 0-0 and it was pissing with rain, Millwall fans jumping down from the seats in the Arthur Waite stand into the Palace fans below and wading into them.

Most memorable game was Palace v Birmingham last game of the season in 89 or 90 cant remember! But do remember seeing a place fan get floored by the Pink Panther!!! :lolol:

Also rememeber Charlton v Leeds play off game and Charlton v Wimbledon 1986 ? major rucks beleive it or not!!

I think really the only fair result is that fighting breaks out, not just between rival fans, but also amongst their own fans, to the point where Fratton Park collapses and both teams are expelled from the football league. Yakubu nips on a train to Brighton and signs up before tea time. Redknapp retires and Dowie is so scarred from the experience that he flees the country to pursue a coaching role in Zimbabwe.

Then everybody's happy, surely?

Palace v Birmingham 1988 it was Brummy fans came in fancy dress the lot of them Palace won 4.0 and it kicked off big time as Palace were 3.0 up within half an hour and condemed brum to the old 3rd division.
Was a good laugh seeing Bat Man and Robin giving it large.
