So they have laid off a load of staff, didn't pay a load of creditors including St Johns Ambulance - but there is a testimonial for Primus. He is one of the good guys - but even so .............

Gav - having to see them around here crowing in their 2008 FA Cup Final Winners shirts and having to endure the "sleeping giant" crap that they throw out, it is actually very funny to see them in this state. They are not going out of business, but being relegated and hopefully having more points deducted so they rocket past us (downwards) in the League would also be funny. They are a perfect example of a club which had ideas above their station - they got suckerpunched not once or twice, but loads of times and they have never learnt - their only defence is that they are "too big a club to be treated like this". Well, good times, because they are only a big club in their own minds - and current events are proving this. If they had been a bit less billy big bollocks when they went up it might be a little less amusing. As it is, losing their car park is funny, as is the fact that they have to send all of their ground staff and stewards for training at Southampton because they are not allowed to handle money for training courses!

In fairness I know a few "long-term" Pompey fans who have enjoyed the last few years but have known for a seriously long time that this was never going to be sustainable, still rip the piss out of them like mad though!

Surely if the HMRC stand there ground there is every chance of them going out of business?
Or shall i come back to the real world

It's hardly funny seeing a football club in that state.

Its like a bloke sawing his own leg off and expecting sympathy for being disabled, Portsmouth are an absolute joke club and deserve all the hardship they have received. I appreciate the fact that it is going to be very difficult for the so called stars who will have nowhere to park their Bentleys, Porsches and Ferraries but there is a world wide recession and we all have to make sacrifices

The absolute worst that could happen is that they are wound up, but they reform as a new club and come back up from the lower leagues. Fratton is a Class 1 shithole anyway, so demolishing that and putting up a Burger King would not be a problem. They are sat on some good land (which Sacha owns!) and could arguably benefit from having the ground sold out from under them and sharing with, say, Southampton for a while. They currently have no goalkeepers with the season rapidly approaching, they are a complete car crash club now. If it was a race horse you would have pulled the screens around and loaded up the Mossberg.

God, please, if you read NSC, just read the one part about them being made to share St Mary's and make it happen!
