While undoubtedly some people need food banks, I think this is more of a left wing propaganda tool.

How many of these people truly need to use the banks. How many of these people who use them have big flat screen TVs, iphones, and other luxuries. What checks are made on people using them, that they actually need them, rather than use them because they can.

Besides, if you are earning such a low wages than you cannot afford to buy food, go and look for another job. Or are we still clinging to the myth there are no jobs out there? Go and learn a skill, and and better yourself, rather than just sit on your arse being looked after by everyone else.

Harsh, but IMO, only those who are young, old, and disabled should get free handouts of any kind.

Everyone else should be made to work for their supper, no matter how trivial the work is. For me I work hard to look after my family and myself. I pay taxes which are used to pay to help these in need. Not those who want to be looked after by the State, and then whine that the rich have things that they don't. Because to the left, anyone with their own house is rich and should be taxed for it!!

you have to be refered by a professional (doctor nurse social worker ect) there are over 900.000 people now using foodbanks, some have low paid jobs.
my daughter is one of the disabled (turners sydrome) who lost her job to someone on a zero hours contract( to whole business has gone tits up now as they done this to most of the regular staff) she is fit, well and perfectly capable but still all they can't find her is a job, only one at 16 hours a week, she voluteers the other hours doing the same job at no pay.
so from full time at low pay to nothing, to give someone else the job on a zero hours contract and then go tits up.
no coaching from me, but this election she will not be voting tory or labour but probably green

Fair enough, but personal responsibility for one's actions seems to be a distant memory for some.
Always trying to find a scapegoat or a Government (of any colour) to blame for their woes.
This with ****ing bells on it!

But if she is disabled, she should be looked after by the rest of society. I won't ague with that. But, the problem is the money is not there, because there are far far to many who are taking from the state, instead of working for themselves and the state.

You will get no argument from me or I would doubt any Tory, that those who struggle through genuine illness and disability should be looked after by the rest of us.

Unfortunately because of the mess left behind by Labour, the money simply has not been there, and because of how badly messed up the economy, we will be feeling it for years, if through nothing else but house prices, which trebled/quadrupled under Labour, so many who had one house, suddenly found their savings worthless, so invested in second, third and fourth homes, driving the price and rents up. That legacy cannot be undone in a few years, and will be a weight around any governments neck for generations.

But no, only the Tories look after the rich! And Labour are the working mans party!!! Bullshit.

Tories are the true working mans party.

Labour are there for those who don't want to work from themselves, and rather than State looks after them, but unfortunately as Labour proves over and over again, it doesn't work as money doesn't grow on trees.

And the Greens are worse than Labour. THey have all the bright ideas, but absolutely no idea of how to pay for it! Again, you have to have a strong economy, because without it, the funds are not there to pay to help those that need it, just as the last five years have proven. But as usual its the tories than get the blame, because they are the ones in power when Labours mess has to get cleaned up!

Politics reminds me of naughty children.

Little Brother makes the mess and spills paint all over the carpet, big sister comes along get little brother out of the way, and starts to clean up the mess than little brother made, and then gets the flack from mum and dad for making the mess! The little brother comes out to play in the nice clean room again while big sister is sat on the naughty step. Its a bit like Labour and Conservatives !

What this thread is missing, in order to ensure balance, is a good chunk of socialist rant from Enrest or Tubthumper!!!

Can't argue with that. Expect the big difference is Labour given the chance, would bankrupt the country as they came very very very close to doing in 2010
