I thought that the atmosphere was the worst at an away game since QPR boxing day 0-0. I thought the Plymouth fans were very vocal (makes a change for a home team). Maybe there were 700 of us there but with a fairly low roof I thought we would have made more noise.

I understand it was the same at Barnsley. Oldham was good though.

That was my first away game in 10 years and my first under a roof since an England game a few years back - so to me the atmosphere was great :)
Just the noise generated by the songs bouncing off the roof, even when they scored I was like "christ thats loud!" all because I'm used to the Withdean and the noise goes up and up and up and does'nt rebound around.

I don't think the Fat bloke and his mates took it as well as you think. They looked like the local pikeys to me.......

It was a pretty decent turnout, I suspect that many stayed the weekend like myself - Dartmoor is so pretty this time of year.

Still amazed that both Evans and their captain were still on the pitch after 90 minutes- both should have gone. The 3 points would have been ours and Steve would have won Manager of the Month.

I agree about the vocals. I was dissapointed. Having told all the Plymouth fans in the pub beforehand that they wouldn't believe the noise we make and that they would not hear better away support all season, I feel a bit  .

We did make a racket from time to time but upon looking around there we lots of people with the Withdean disease of sitting around very quietly as if they were watching a game of cricket.

Certainly the least vocal support I have heard on any of my away trips.

Whats going on ?!.

I actually made a point of listening to the noise after we scored the third because even after 10 minutes it seemed a bit muted. We sang for about 2 minutes and went really quiet again. That is what a few other teams do, but never us I thought.
For example at Forest last yr we silenced 28,000 pople and pissed on thier mexican wave with our choice of songs and vocal volume. Saturday just semeed a bit flat but then maybe because it was a long weay to go, but then, shouldnt we make more noise because its such a long way and we made the effort?!!
For example..................
The fat bloke, a bit of a pikey. He knew he was fat and we knew it. The reason he was trying to get our attention was he knew that we would sing the typical fat bastard jokes at him and he would love it. Rewind to Grimsby, same scenario with a bloke in the stand to our right. A couple of fat songs but the one that really shut him up was 'You'll be dead at 45'.... How I laughed long and hard. Sure it was only a bit of banter and no-one really meant anything by it but it was better to give him this at the way he was winding us up and tell him what he already knew and wanted to hear!!
This year I am more than happy to be the most arrogant set of fans in the country after what we have achieved on the resources we have. Singing 3-1 to the champions was quality, yes they came back but I though they deserved it so I wasnt really too worried. I just hope the atmosphere will be better at Rushden, though it being a midweek game I reckon it will.
