plumbing help please

any ideas?

when the loo upstairs is used with a number 2, my wife is complaining that when its flushed there is a pooey smell from the downstairs kitchen sink.

I have run the taps to ensure the 'u' bend drain traps are full of water, I have not yet checked the air vent on the roof..

Any ideas what maybe causing this? ( i have never smelt it as of course Mrs's poo smells of roses!!!!!)

I doubt it's to do with the fact there's a turd in the bog but more to do with the water kicking up the shit in the drains. Follow the sink waste pipe to the drain if you can and have a sniff, it might need clearing and cleaning.

just poured a whole bottle of bleach down the loo, put my nose right over the drain, flushed the loo and smelt nowt...

maybe its her nose? will wait until I have a movement in the morning, she can flush it and I will try the sniff test again.!!!!
