This is purely hypothetical at the moment, but what happens if we lose 10 games in a row?

Martin Hinshelwood lost his job at at that point, does the same happen to Mark McGhee? Do we say no because the circumstances are different? Are they different? Is it not the same because the siutation was no better for Hinshelwood than for it has been and is for McGhee? Do we say yes he should because losing 10 games in a row is simply not good enough?

Before anybody berates me for bringing this up now, my honest feeling with the way games have gone lately is that it could happen, and I think the question will start to get asked before then.

Personally, I would not support another change of manager no matter what happens. Stability at the top is what has been required and he is prepared to give us that stability, even considering the circumstances he is working under.

Interested to know other thoughts.

Better the devil you know. Who else could we afford anyway?

It is all too possible. The difference is that McGhee has proven he can do better, whereas Hinshelwood started badly and just got worse. There was nothing there to redeem him.

With respect, Hinshelwood started superbly with a 3-1 debut win at Burnley.

And to make matters worse, he came out with the now infamous quote about football management being easy, and maybe he should get out now. Ho ho. How we laughed 11 games later.

It was 0-0 with Coventry after that wasn't it? Which was a better result then than it would have been this time round, though with hindsight, less vital.

Shame really.
