I think Barnet later sold a player to Wimbledon for £400k, may have been Andy Clarke, think he later linked up again with Barry Fry at Peterborough.

Where did Peter Smith join us from, sure that was a non-league team, Sittingbourne perhaps.

...and Darren Freeman had played for Horsham at one stage in his career.

...aha, knew it was some Kentish outfit. Have a feeling we also signed a player from Maidstone Utd at one stage, but names and memories are a bit dim on this.

Mark Gall was from Maidstone, I'm sure of it. We signed him the year we got relegated 91-92, was top scorer but only played that season as he retired after that through injury I think

That is it Kaz, my brother worked with a mate of his. Mark was absolutely gutted when he had to retire as he loved playing for the Albion and was really committed to the club, a sentiment shared by many who saw him play.

Tony Book went from I think it was Bath City or some club down that way straight to Div 1 with Man City, who were challenging for the title, at about 27 years of age if my memory serves me well.

Weren't Maidstone a league club then?

Mark Gall was a great player - shame he had to retire so young.
