In thinking about Spanish Dave in particular, and perhaps Orlandi, it is always really pleasing as a fan to not only see a player settle in and start to play well for your club, it is also great to see them appear to be genuinely happy and enjoying themselves.

Spanish Dave appears to be relishing English football, and perhaps settling right into our culture as well. Not only is he performing really well and running himself into the ground for the cause, he's doing it with a smile on his face. The same has to be said for Orlandi, perhaps going nowhere fast at Swansea, with his recent goals, and creative influence in the team, he is another who looks like he is not only enjoying his football, but loving life at the club and perhaps settled right into the area as well.

On the other side, CMS does look like a guy with the world on his shoulders. I am critical of him, but do feel for him as well. Some of that spark we saw when he first came has gone out, and I think he must be aware that he struggles with our way of playing and the role he is asked to fulfil. A P'Boro he was only ever required to score goals, but here he has to be part of the build up, has to retain possession, and I think he finds it very difficult. As a result he is perhaps one person who doesn't look that happy at the moment.

I agree. And I think a players happiness shows in his game. CMS has not looked happy of late, and he has been poor at the same time. Bridge, Bruno and Lopez seem particularly happy, and I think it shows in their game too.

It's good that some of our key players are enjoying their football and their time at the club, it's a lot easier to win stuff when you are happy :)

CMS looks visibly frustrated and sorry for himself at the mo. He seems to be constantly falling to the ground when challenged and exasperated when he doesn't get the decision from the Ref. A striker needs to score goals. CMS's first touch has never been consistent: when he is scoring goals his first touch is acceptable, when he is not scoring goals it is a massive frustration to him and us. I applaud his work rate and would love him to turn it around - he is an honest professional and seems a decent bloke.
I think how it works out with Ulloa will make or break him with us.....but on their current relative form I can see No9 Ashley Barnes getting the nod ahead of CMS to accommodate the Cyclone.

Here, there and everywhere
But to what extent does happiness depend on the person underneath. CMS is known to be sensitive and we all know about Vicente.

When they sign up a new player do they consider how they will fit into the team, like with any other job - or is it just based on skill.
