Right here, right now
Bloom and Poyet are both on record as saying they don't like doing business in the January window so I won't expect a big signing then. When we move to Falmer the club will look a much more attractive option both for potential players and investors. "If you build it they will come."
They may not like doing business in January but if we don't get the player(s) GP wants before the end of this window and we are not doing as well as hoped by the end of December, there may be no choice other than to bring in a player or two in January.

As long as we are marching in the right diresction towards a solid base for the future once we have arrived at Falmer I dont care if it takes us 4 or 5 years before we challenge for the Championship.

What if Tony's pockets are not as deep as we thought, what if he only had say £100m and had to spend over £90m on the stadium? might explain why the corporate packages were so competively priced to try and quickly raise cash in short term.

Maybe all the bravado about finishing in the top two was a poker players bluff to try to attract free transfers to the club?

I really don't think we're in the situation where we desperately need to raise short term funds.
Bloom said, at some point, that our playing budget was around the eighth biggest in the division and that's probably been shown in our dealings so far. It's not like we've spent NO money. Everyone seems to be panicking just because we haven't signed a striker yet, but the whole point is we're trying to get a TOP striker but those are extremely difficult to get. More than one player we've targeted has moved to decent Championship clubs.

I think Bloom probably COULD chuck money at the team if he wanted to. But he's doing it sensibly, building the infrastructure of the club. Not jsut Falmer, looking at sites for dedicated training grounds, looking at possible academy status for the youth set up. I'm sure Poyet would like a bit more to spend, and it's important not to neglect the playing side but I don't think we've really got alot to worry about at all. We'd all rather kick off Falmer in the Championship I'm sure, but if not, there's always next season, when there wil probably be a bit more available again and a promotion campaign should bring in the crowds. :)

Exactly. We are still a few years behind the clubs you mention and I think Bloom is going to build a decent business model as opposed to lobbing money at the playing side.

I hope you're right, as that's exactly what he should do to keep the club run properly in the long term. That business model can include other revenue streams like conferencing from next year.

He could probably spunk about £3million of his own cash every year and still not see us go anywhere, nobody can do that forever. Better to go the sensible route, some people can't accept that though

Spending £2M before Tuesday wont guarantee us promotion anyway.

............ of achieving an annual expenditure = x2.5 income and posting a loss of £6m+.

FFS... I responded to a post that said £2M doesn't guarantee promotion... nor does £10M... would you like to use your spreadsheet and/or abacus to work out the loss for that figure grey man?
