Kuipers 8 (some excellent saves)

Butters 7 (solid performance)
Hinshelwood 8 (swept up superbly, passed well)
El Abd 6 (nervous in possession, but tackled well)

Mayo 7 (defended well, supported in attack, should have scored)
Harding 6 (energetic display, faded in second half badly)
Carpenter 7 (some great passes, ditto faded)
Oatway 6 (one of his weaker displays, not as good as recent games)
Reid 8 (excellent on the flank, some great balls, save for 15 dodgy minutes)

Hart 7 (fought well early on, got knackered in second half)
Knight 8 (exceptional performance, shame about the missed penalty, although credit to Gerrard)

Kuipers - 9 Man of the Match. Superb saves including one double save just before he went off.

El Abd - 6 Looked uneasy but recovered in the second half with a couple of very important blocks.
Butters - 7 Solid enough.
Hinshelwood - 6. Solid and looking a bit more composed on the ball but was guilty of just lumping it forward which played into their hands.

Mayo - 6. Poor passing but decent defensively.
Reid - 6 Started ok but passing got worse as the game wore on.

Harding - 5. Awful. He has been getting better recenly but game completely passed him by and there really is no excuse for not finding someone five foot away.
Carpenter - 7. Good performance and held the midfield together on his own for long periods. Unlucky with the free kick.
Oatway - 6 One of his poorer games.

Hart - 6 Worked hard but no end product
Knight 7 Worked hard with little service or support, especially in the second half and showed some touches of brilliance but obviously missed important penalty.

Crowd - 3

Kuipers 8 - agree with Kev, that tip on to the bar from the Reid free kick was phenomenal, only one mix-up with Hinsh blotted an excellent display.

Butters 7 - brilliant tackle on Marlon King in the box in 1st half that would have been a pen if he'd got it fractionally wrong.
Hinshelwood 7 - his pace came in handy against the likes of King and Reid.
El Abd 6 - bit nervous early on, but did well to get forward and have our best goal-scoring chance of the 2nd half - excellent turn, shot not quite so good.

Mayo 6 - quieter today because he was bogged down in defensive work thanks to good Forest display. Awful miss in the 1st half.
Harding 6 - one fine surging run like his one for the Watford winner but a few misplaced passes near the end
Carpenter 6 - slipped back a bit from the brilliant standards of recent matches but battled hard.
Oatway 7 - our best player in the first-half, orchestrating midfield excellently, but faded along with the team in the second.
Reid 8 - by far our best player in the second half and best overall. Cultured footballer.

Hart 6 Worked hard but never got much quality ball
Knight 6 A few nice touches but quieter than in recent games. Created a superb chance for Mayo. But blew a great one when him and Harty sprung the offside trap in the first half. The penalty was poor - Gerrard commited himself early and six months ago Leon would have calmly put it in the opposite corner - maybe that old ice-cold confidence that he used to have in front of goal is still missing.

May 6 Hurrah for the newbie, he kicked straight!
Jonah 5 Had three chances to either win corners or put crosses in, cocked up every one :lolol:

What Mr patronising said! :jester: :lolol:

Maybe I would mark down Harding as he was absent for most of the game.

Can I just point out that in my entire 2 and half thousand posts on NSC, I've never once corrected anyone's spelling and punctuation except Safeway's :D

How can people be giving Brighton players such high marks when we have just played so badly against a team in the bottom three AT HOME.

We played as well as Forest allowed us to play.

We are beginning to sound like 'with respect we should be beating the teams in the bottom 3'

Forest set out to stifle our midfield and succeeded very well in doing just that.
