Mcnulty 8 and he only played for a couple of minutes? According to the radio the defence played well so your ratings don't look right.Navaro had a good game by the sounds of it.The only players who had an off day was Forster and Bennett, perhaps Murray as well.

All pretty average except Hoyte, Navarro, Bennett and Murray who where below par. New keeper a big improvement despite giving away a penalty (from which he made a fine save) and then nearly conceding a comedy goal that would have been up there with Hawkins or Hinshelwood.

I asked him before. I was surprised because she looks attractive in the avatar, but sog said it was her.
Fair play fella, was exactly what I was thinking.

Amazing how different she looks, as I still remember the posters of her in an Albion shirt that you could buy, possibly around 98 or 99. Also have a feeling there was also one for Louise Redknapp, not quite sure of her BHA or even Brighton connection??

Brezo,or Pete, 11.Definite legend after ONE GAME

Hoyte, 4 not a good game

Bennett 5 not his best

Navarro 4 forgot he was playing

Murray 6 Tried hard, not at his best.

Forster 8 Brilliant late on.

Subs sixes, except Cox who was only on for the shaking of hands at the end.

An average performance in Withdean conditions, with an above average result.

Louise grew up in east grinstead, and so proclaimed herself a brighton fan (at least when promoting her appearance at party in the park for southern fm). She did a phot spread in the argus wearing a brighton shirt.

Brez 9 Faultless handling, saved a pen, distribution not bad.

Hoyte 6 I think Whing might be in with a shout of a recall, however was part of a defence which kept a clean sheet so can't be too critical.
Tunnicliffe 6 Solid enough, but got caught out on the turn by their big number 10 on occasions (Corr?)
Elphick 7 Solid enough, there is improvement in him and perhaps todays clean sheet and a decent goalie behind him may spark that.
El-Abd 7 For a makeshift leftback he did well. Got forward a couple of times, and I loved his aggression in a 50/50 tackle in the first half. Proper football.

Bennett 6 Not as creative as usual, maybe all these games in quick succession are taking their toll. Time for a break?
Cofts 8 Effort, commitment and a lovely headed finish. Good game.
Dicker 7 Played some good passes today, does the nuts and bolts of the game well. I'd like to see him involved in the final third a little more as he can pick a good pass.
Navarro 6 I'm sure he was playing but can't remember anything of note about his game.

Murray 6 Had to comee deep far too often in the first half, when we were quite poor, to get any posession. Not suprised to see him subbed.
Forster 8 Endevour from the old boy and no little skill, I wish we had eleven Forsters on the pitch.

Subs.
Dickinson 8 Looked sharp and aggressive, will start next week
McNulty 6 Only on for 5 minutes in left midfield, could that be the answer to our left sided problem?

Well to be fair that was abit of a smash and grab today, Exeter played the better football for an hour and we were holding on at times. The new keeper had as good a debut as it is possible to have (I hope he stays permanently) and the defence looked better for it. We're lacking a left midfielder and McNulty's 5 minutes there might give a clue as to what Gus is going to do until January. Dickinson and Forster gave problems as a partnership and should be the first choice on todays evidence. Exeter will be gutted, but I'm just happy it was us doing to them what we've had done to us so many times. It was a better second half and I hope we can go on from there.

SEAGULLS.

I thought our midfield was non exsistent at times, we didnt close them down quick enough and there penalty came from bennet allowing his man inside him from the halfway line and from then on we were a man short in defence.

Navarro was a waste of space and a pathetic booking for him was the only thing he done today in my opinion, back four looked a bit lost at times and needed a voice back there to talk them thru the game at times
Murray didnt have a first touch today, Forster did a great job in the second half of holding the ball up, but we didnt look like scoring or creating til we started to attack them from the wide positions, didnt deserve to lose, but a draw would have been a fair result, so well happy with 3 points

Brez 6: On the plus side, saved a pen, very good on crosses, on the minus side, gave away a pen, sliced a clearance straight to an Exeter player who had an empty net and it needed a goal line clearance to save his blushes.

Hoyte 4: Looked suspect when anyone was running at him, good going forwards. Positionally seemed to be caught out too often.
Tunnicliffe 5 Good in the air, but gave their forwards far too much space to turn him as they pleased.
Elphick 6 Got stuck in, won a lot in the air. Not a leader of the line though.
El-Abd 7 Bombed forward on occasion and very committed at the back.

Bennett 5 Looked tidy on the ball but lacked a final ball the whole match
Crofts 6 Took goal well but at times Exeter played the ball around us too easily
Dicker 6 Very composed but lacked anything too creative.
Navarro 4 Saw more of Lord Lucan on the pitch than Navarro

Murray 6 First touch made his boot appear to be made out of velcro. Sublime touches at times but no end result and no chances created or taken.
Forster 6 First 75 minutes was very quiet apart from serial finger wagging at the linesman. Went out wide left when Murray went off and was a different player.

Subs.
Dickinson 6 Made a positive difference. One good chance for Forster that almost produced a goal and prepared to run at defenders
McNulty 6 Gave us greater solidity when he came on.

To be honest the result was better than the performance, we could (should?) have been 2 or 3 down before we had our first chance, but it's three points and no complaints. We will play far better this season and lose.

Conflicting views on Bernie coming through - either "very little to do, too early to say" or "11 out of 10". Is saving a penalty colouring people's judgements or was he really dominant in the box?

View down the radio (not a great view) - Bennett sounds like he needs a rest, Murray too. Tommy improving. Hoyte a weak link again - what has happened here? And as someone suggests, could Jimmy Mac be the answer for left of midfield if we can find a decent left back in January (or get Jake Wright fit).
