I feel we did not hold on last night because we sat too deep. I spent the ten minutes preceeding their goal shouting push up at our defence. They didn't, Stains score. Straight after the goal they start defending in the right place again.

We either need the CBs or Goalkeeper to get them to defend in the right place, or maybe even the captain.

All that said it was a good performance overall, and a fair result.

Brilliant game but, shock horror, a couple of tactical blunders tonight. 2-1 up with 15 minutes to play and with Barnard just on the pitch Gus should have bolstered the defensive spine of the team. There's no way Navarro should've come off - he's unbelievably good at shielding the back 4.

Meanwhile Gary Dicker, who'd had a fab game, was clearly tiring and starting to get caught with the ball and misplacing passes. In fact it was his attempt at another killer ball when holding it or playing it simple (or into the corners) was intercepted for the Scummer's late equaliser.

Diego on for Dicker - as another defensive midfielder - and Crofts pushed forward and I reckon 3 points instead of 1. But bollocks to it, for 2/3 of the game we were the better side playing the better football and after so much shit for the past couple of seasons that was worth every penny of my £24. Hope Paints is alright - what a brilliant LB that bloke is.

yes, but you're ignoring the tactical masterstroke that was the second goal, both subs combining brilliantly.

Not a game for ratings in my view. Was a derby fast and frantic without much good play. Ref was pretty awful seemed to be bottle a lot.

Are Southampton trying to take over from Palace. Harding, Hammond, Pardew

Disagree Diego was on for his extra height and you can't just sit back which is what would have happened with 2 defensive players in.

You must see a different game to me because for what I saw he added elegance and style. His composure whilst under tight pressure is invaluable to the teams style. We had more possession than them and I felt Dicker retained it superbly.
Agreed, Croft had a blinder too.

Its weird how people see the game differently isn't it? I'm a big fan of Dicker (oo err) but I thought he was gash last night. Crofts on the other hand, who I don't particularly rate, had a cracker in my opinion and could have won MOM. Which is pretty much the same opinion of Mellotron who I was sat next to.

Yeah that's really weird sharing the same opinion as someone you know sat next to you!? Just like how it is that everyone on NSC has rated him well.

Is that you, Gus? If not, then perhaps the reason the players don't listen to you, apart from the fact that they probably couldn't hear you, is that you are not the manager.

I was kinda making the point that you quite often end up coming away from a game sharing a similar opinion to the person sat next to you.

As for Dicker, the last 3 people's (Trigger, e77, The Large One) player ratings have given him a 6, which, in each case, is lower than almost every player. So no idea what you are talking about there, "The Truth".

Under your skin.
Would you care to elaborate?

IMO Nav shouldn't have been taken off. He was doing fine and knows the side he was playing with. Not the right type of game to give someone a debut.

Everyone 7 apart from Calderon, Brez Elphick (8's) and Murray (6)

Pardew - just f*** off. You dare gesticulate to Gus like that again. You're not fit to lick his piss, you pig-eyed sack of cock yoghurt.

:clap2: Very rare that I laugh out loud but I did just then! Anyway, good point well made.

I'm not saying they should listen to me, just that they sat too deep. Do you disagree that they were too deep? That would be an appropriate response to my post.

I agree it's being going on ever since we've played at Withdean, except for the season when Simon Morgan played
