He's just about the least lazy player I've ever seen - absolute leader on the pitch as well. Heard from someone ITK that he has (historically at least) had to be protected from himself in training - everything is always at 100%, does extra sessions etc etc.
There were a few misplaced passes, to be fair, but the assist for the first goal was poetic, and he was always up for it. A real asset.
he had the reputation of working hard and being a model professional at both Southampton and Liverpool. Saints could do with him now…….. but I’m very happy he’s with us.
It was an ex-Saints coach that I heard about it from....hardest trainer in the squad by an absolute mile apparently.
