Henderson: 6: Did not have a lot to do but commanded box reasonably well and distribution impressive.

Mayo 5: Still frightens the living daylights out of those on the terraces. One comedy corner and a couple of dodgy clearances but not too bad overall

Tank 7: Commanding in the air, kept the front two of Scunny quiet.

Hinsh 7: Looked back to his best

Whing 7: Very good going forward, helped make both goals

Cox 7: Looked most composed player on park, scored one and good effort in second half

Hammond 5; Game drfited him by a bit but defended well in front of the back four

Fraser 5: As for Hammond, tidy but needs to impose himself on game more.

OGH 7: Ran his socks off in typical OGH style and scored winner

Revell 8: Deserved a goal, tireless performance, lacks finesse but the effort was herculean.

Williams 4: Struggled to impose himself on the game:

Subs Robinson 7: Game us width and a new dimension in second half

Lynch 6: Came on at a corner! But looked solid against a big front 3 of Scunny

Is this the first Albion game where we started with TWO ginger full backs, as well as the worlds campest linesman sporting a moustache that even Freddy Mercury would classify as mincing.

Henderson 6 Quiet game, little to do

Whing 7 Beautiful assist for the winner. Was his most important work influencing the ref with the card though, won't be forgotten by Scunny fans in a hurry that :lolol:
Hinsh 7 Nice to see him back, please stay injury free!
Butters 7.5 Excelent work throughout
Mayo 8 MOTM Epitomised a brilliant defensive effort, hard as nails at the back and always made an auxiliary midfielder. Best game since 02-03 season for me

Hart 7.5 An assist for the first as a winger and a goal as a centre-forward, can't ask for better, great tactical switch by Wilkins
Hammond 6 Got stuck in
Fraser 6 Big learning curve but another important step forward today, beginning to look at home
Cox 8 Our class player

Revell 8 Our Peter Crouch, great touch for a big guy and always a massive pain in the backside for the Scunny defence
Williams 6 I actually thought for the first 20 mins of the first half, we saw something decent from him at last, some movement, some workrate, but faded a bit after the almightly clout for the sending off though, and rightly subbed. Tricky decision for Deano, he's certainly not better than Revell, but is he better than Hart up front?

Subs:
Robinson 6 Ok but can do better
Lynch 6 Character-building day for him, this. Looked lively in his short spell
Rents no time

Now I wasn't at the game, but are you actually being serious? Or are you deliberately trying to wind NSC? Just there's an interesting contrast between you and El Pres!

But seriously, fair play to him if he's come back and had a stormer:clap:

I thought he had a stormer, you'll have to ask EP why he marked him down, perhaps it's something to do with the NSC rules that Mayo is always shit.

I wasn't there but from radio sounded like Whing was man of match, played solid in defense, moved the ball forward with some link up play, and made the goals.

What annoyed the Scunny players the most ( and had wound them up so much at end of game ) was that as well as playing a helping hand in reducing them to ten men - he is also a VERY Good fullback - and played a key role in setting up the winner - would imagine he may have had a quiet word with their players and pionted this out once or twice!!!

Alternatively it could have been that in the first ten minutes he miscued the ball to Scunny players a couple of times, took a corner so poorly that it rolled on the floor and only just made the six yard box.

Perhaps you made him MOM just to reinforce your reputation as the most contrary person on NSC:jester:

Butters and Cox made team of the day in NOTW

Hinsh made team of the day in League Paper

Whing made both goals - cross for Cox to head in - pass for Hart to score - and would get my MOM for that

Hinsh, Cox and Butters staying fit and on form will be very important as well though

Well, every report I've seen says he played well, so I think it's you are the one who are heroically out of step with your mark of 5 - bravo

"heroically out of step"

What does that even mean?

What's heroic about it? ???

Because Wilkins obviously wanted Lynch's fresh legs on for the last bit of the game.

Are you implying that it was because Mayo was playing badly then?

If you genuinely believe that, then presumably Wilkins will start with Lynch at LB against Northampton, would that be fair to say?

We'll find on Saturday, won't we? :)

Rather depends on how Tuesday night goes - Lynch may play and have a blinder/stinker, Mayo might do the same, and Rents might come in and be immense..so i'm not sure you can really judge.
