Ankergren 6.5 - not much to save, didn't do much wrong, had the standard 4 or 5 moments of where our slow passing at the back almost cost a goal
El Abd 1 - at fault for all 3 goals, but played out of position, and not match fit
Dunk 6 - ok - needs to learn how to head
Greer 6 - ok
Tarrico 3 - worst game for us, doesn't link up with lua lua either
Buckley 6 - think he would be a good partner for CMS
Bridcutt 7 - decent
Sparrow 6.5 - seems to have energy but doesn't really put it to its best use? could be our best player if he did
Harley 1 - slowest player on the ball in this league. that style might work in league 1 but it doesnt in the championship
Lua Lua 5.5 - doesn't seem to have any confidence, but looked threatening at times
CMS 6.5 - worked hard, missed two good chances

3-5-2 worked well in the second half though - might have been because reading were sitting back though...

Noone 8.5 - changed game, 3/4 good crosses too
Paynter 1 - missed from half a yard, gets a 1 for his 'air header'

Worthing
Casper - 6 - Nothing to do really.
El-Abd - 5 - Not good against speed and trickery.
Greer - 6 - OK - unspectacular
Dunk - 6- See Greer
Tano - 5 - Looked his age, outmuscled and outpaced.
Bridcutt - 6 - Poor by his high standards
Harley - 6 - Battled for possession more than previously, but began to look annonymous the longer the game progressed.
Buckley - 6 - Disappointing, went down too easily.
Lua-Lua - 7 - Looked good on the ball...........when he actually managed to get it.
Sparrow - 6 - I'm afraid looks a level too high for him.
CMS - 6 - Worked hard, should've scored 2.

Noone - 7 - A couple of decent crosses.
Paynter - 4 - Added nothing, woeful miss.

Harley - 1 - Battled for possession more than previously, but began to look annonymous the longer the game progressed.
Buckley - 5 - Disappointing, went down too easily.
Lua-Lua - 6 - Looked good on the ball...........when he actually managed to get it.

Based on 5 being average.

Ankegren 4: Rooted to his line. Didn't even control his six yard box.
El Abd 4: Torrid afternoon up against an excellent winger.
Tarricco 4: Struggled against his winger.
Dunk 6: Solid.
Greer 7: I was very impressed, calm, great touch and won the ball more often than not.
Bridcutt 7: Pretty much played centre midfield on his own.
Sparrow 4: Pretty ineffectual.
Harley 3: Frustrating player. Looks like he could be really good but too often seemed lethargic and in need of extra time on the ball.
Buckley 4: Made some decent runs, but got knocked off the ball too easily and offered no help to El Abd.
Lua Lua 5: Tried to help Tarrico, didn't get much of the ball but did o.k when he got it(although his final ball was questionable).
Mackail Smith 4: Tireless, dispossesed their defenders several times, didn't have great service but missed two absolute sitters in the second half. You've got to score at least one of them.

Subs:
Noone 7: Ran at Reading whenever he got the ball. Put in four or five excellent balls into the box from which we should have scored at least once.
Paynter 4: Not brilliant but we played a lot better after he and Noone came on. Had a great chance that he should have done better with.

Ref 3: I really don't understand how ref's work. He was blowing up for things that were unfathomable to my eye, yet would ignore what looked like clear fouls at other times. Also seemed very inconsistant with the decisions that he did give.

Madejski stadium 3: An annoying announcer, a drum and horrible goal music whic the locals all danced along to. Poor.

Overall I thought we were appalling in the first 20 minutes and looked like we were on for a humping(which I guess, in the end, we received). It was a soft goal to give away-it looked like it was a training match at that point. We got a bit better after that and the second-another soft goal- was a real kick in the teeth. I think we could have got something out of the game if we had kept it to 1-0 at half time. Second half we were better, particularly when Noone and Paynter came on and we changed to three at the back and reall ywent for it. We created three golden chances which Paynter and Mackail-Smith managed to miss(didn't even manage to get one of them on target!). The third goal was an irrelevance.

IMHO, we need a new g.k and a partner for bridcutt and then we'll be a decent enough side. We could also do with having more players that can cope with the size and physicality of the majority of teams in this league. Reading looked taller, bigger, stronger and faster(most of the time).

Not when you haven't got any pace.

What about when he plays at centre half then - with no pace against championship strikers. What an awful position to have someone come in with no pace against quality speedy strikers. Id rather have him at RB with no pace!! And you say i know nothing about football!! lol
