I thought we actually played pretty well, but then threw it away. Very wasteful. And a very flat atmosphere for most of the game in WSU.

Kuszczak 8. Confident handling when called on.
Bruno 8. Great goal and some good forward runs, but loses a point for being partly responsible for their goal.
Greer 7. Good game and one great block.
Dunk 7. Solid game.
Painter 7. Played well defensively and going forward. Shown up for pace only once.
Bridcutt 8. Great game. Joint MOM
Hammond 7. One of his best games since returning. A number of shots on goal and seemed to play further forward.
Orlandi 8. Getting better and more influential as time goes by. Joint MOM
Barnes 4. Actually played quite well at times, but shocking penalty miss and the rebound. Plus a crap shot later in the game. Should be dropped.
Buckley 7. Good, but not his best game.
CMS 6. Loads of energy and running, but desperately needs to get some shooting boots.

Not on long enough to rate, but was impressed with Hoskins.


Gus should replace CMS and Barnes with Dobbie and Hoskins on Tuesday.

Ref was an odd one - he seemed to favour each team in spells, but I think overall we got the best of him - He missed a lot of pushes on our players, particularly in the last 10 minutes, I think the added time was because kuszczak's time wasting was so obvious and generally speaking I think adding on time when a team time wastes is the right thing to do though it hurts when it costs us, our goal he overruled the linesman who was waving for Barnes' handball, and gave us a soft free kick when CMS went looking for it. I also think if the weather was drier, we would have seen more reds. Ithink he let some shocking tackles go because of the conditions.
Greer - getting back in form after his recent dip, though I've noticed his passes to dun always curve back so they end up behind dunk forcing him to stop and trot back.
fans - Today were their usual unfair and disproportionately abusive towards barnes, yet whenever he is fouled they are still so angry that someone has hurt him. It's like that abusive husband who will start a fight if anyone disrespect's his wife.
Kuszczak - new clearance tactic this season forwards have been pushing up taking away the short pass as an option, but today we would use this to draw the forwards to greer, pass it back to kuszczak, who chipped it over the forward to Bruno. It was neat. We still need a bit more variety, but good to see we've adapted at last.

I thought Bridcutt had a good game and could have taken motm from Bruno. But as Freeman said the bes t performance from a championship side! We were very dominant against a recent premiership team with plenty of ex premiership players. Well done to the lads

I think I'd go with this except TK 6 as he hardly had anything to do, CMS no more than 6 and Barnes 4 (if I remember correctly 5 used to mean off form, 4 poor). While I will never join the anti-Barnes bandwagon and am usually a very strong supporter of his, I thought he needed to come off far earlier as he did not have a good game, not just his penalty miss.

As it happens I am a Barnes fan, but I thought he had a poor game yesterday. I stood and applauded him off the field, but on balance I think 4 was fair.
