I can't believe those ratings. I thought it was one of our best performances at home this season. Port Vale are a bloody good side.

Roberts - 7 (Made some great catches from crosses)
El-Abd - 7
Pethick - 7
Butters - 8 (Solid. Won loads of headers.)
Mayo - 8 (Defended really well)
Hart - 8 (Very Lively) (Piercy - 8 - PLayed v.well)
Rehman - 7
Yeates - 9
Jones - 8 (Lee -7)
McPhee - 7
Knight - 7

I thought Port Vale looked very poor and can see how they lost to Scarborough last week.

Na. They're only 3 points behind us and 8th in the league.

They were well organised, hard working, had a threat up front.

Everyone seems to have the attitude that we should just brush teams aside.

The crowd didn't help last night. They got all nigely when Vale scored. With 40 minutes left we had plenty of time. Just needed to be confident.

It's the sort of game you would hope to win if you have Title/2nd place aspirations but we played well against a good side and were a little unlucky not to win.

Missing 2 key players and put on a good show. I enjoyed it.

Just thought I'd say that Adrian Littlejohn looked a half decent player for Vale last night. I wonder whether Horton would sell him and how much he'd want.

:bounce:
Littlejohn must have thought that it was Christmas with Robbie Pethick to run past.

Alot of you forget that Vale are 5th, and were top for a long time. There not push overs...Im happy with a point. We could have done better, but thats not excuse to moan and whine like dogs! Noone of our team deserved a 4...and only Piercy got a 5!

Knight's attitude on Friday was disgraceful. Apart from the penalty, he did very little during the game over and above what is expected of him. Towards the end of the game he was dribbling into the area, slightly over-ran it, and screamed at McPhee for it. IT WAS KNIGHT'S FAULT. How can he build up a partnership if he doesn't respect his (hard working) colleague?

Personally, I think the lack of effort on Knight's part could have been down to the certain carpeting he would have received from Monday night. He still has the attitude problem which cost him his place at QPR, Sheff Wed and Chelsea.

I am not completely unhappy about his suspension on Boxing Day. I would rather see journeymen sweating their bollocks off for the team, than players with talent not giving 100% commitment - of which I am afraid Knight is guilty of the latter.

I'll tell you what - one more rating.

The Withdean crowd 2.

Everyone's been spoilt with success in the past few years, and seems to think we will walk this division. When the players need a bit of a lift they're clearly not going to get it from the stands.
