Looking at the teams coming down, teams with new investment, those there or thereabouts last season, teams who have strengthened, big clubs with resources and expectations, and clubs on a roll, I reckon all of these will harbour realistic hopes of finishing in the top six (or higher):

Birmingham
Blackburn
Blackpool
Bolton
Brighton
Cardiff
Charlton
Hull
Leeds
Leicester
Middlesbrough
Sheffield Wed
Watford
Wolves

And who knows, Forest and Derby could even feature if they get some momentum early on.

Going to be another great season.

Think it's the nature of this league that there will always be 15 or 16 with genuine hopes of play offs or better. The financial prize is huge and most will go to, near or even over the limit of their financial capability to achieve it. Makes it exciting as a supporter, more so than the Prem imo

In a word - probably. But as we don't know what additional players Gus is going to bring in ......

Very interesting to see you have included yourselves in the mix. As you will find out in this division, the ONLY thing that is predicable- is its unpredicablility

I also feel there will not be a runaway leader this year either. It promises to be an extremely competitive season, and any improvement on 10th will be hard earned.

As the list was of clubs was:

I don't think it is hubris to include us.

But you are right about the unpredictability.
