Wot - no penalty spots.
Perhaps it's the ultimate answer to our penalty problems - we just won't have any at the Amex.

Is the pitch going to go all the way to the very edge of the grass then? A winger flying down the line, will have one foot on the grass and one on the astroturf-like stuff that runs down both sides?

That looks a little bit peculiar to me.

Maybe they use a different sort of grass where the linos run

Spain U21 are currently playing on a pitch in which the outline is immediately on the line where the grass meets the 'fake' turf. So it does happen.

wot is you problem marc. I think its 3g astro turf like what they have at waterhall.

calm down dear I thought you meant the actual pitch then realised you were talking about the edges, no need to get so angry!

....and its WHAT not wot!

They hire those aliens that do crop circles, because they are cheaper than a landscape designer - who projects a laser writing line-maker and uses paint-guns with injection-tech computer-guided mechanisms. They are accurate too, but well expensive.

Aliens, they're the way forward

I did wonder that, as an astroturf down the side of teh pitch would prevent the mud tracks they churn up in the grass, but it just looks a bit peculiar to me the way the line runs along the very edge of the grass.

Maybe that's just teh "modern way" and I've not noticed it before.
